I can get both of them for the same price.
I game, and I do a lot of RARing
But will any mobo that runs a Q6600, also run the Xeon...it should right?
Which chip is better? =============
This is a topic often discussed. There's no OC'ing evidence on what's better. Some say the X32__ series, because of higher T-junction and lower manufacturing tolerances. Some say the Q6600 and X3210 are identical apart from the Multiplier. Almost everyone believes that the Q6600 is better because of the multi. I almost bought a X3210 personally though, because it was cheaper and I knew that quad OC'ing although beneficial is somewhat limited, and most folks are able to hit 3.6GHz on X3210s as well. That seems to be the average for the Q6600 (G0 cores!). You'd be able to use slower ram on the Q6600 because of the higher multi so you'll save money that way.
You'll need some real OC Skillz to get to 4GHz on a quad though. =============
