question about large format displays vs hdtv

Position: Home >> PC >> Displays >> content ˇˇ
i was planing on upgrading to a larger monitor, a 26-28 inch one. then i was like, i need to upgrade my 8800gt sli if i want a decent fps, and i wanted a hdtv tuner as well. that would be about $1100 total.

then i seen this.

since its pretty much 1440x900 i wouldnt have to upgrade my video cards, would i? i would save $400 and it comes with a tv tuner.

or would i be better off getting a 42" hdtv that runs at 1920x1080 for $40 more?
