I have a R912E (Rosewill). I just set down a can of mt dew on my desk and it slipped and some of the mt dew like shot out the can and landed on my monitor. I quickly turned it off and cleaned it all up, but now like 10 minutes later, the contrast button is stuck. Like, it's just constantly turning the contrast down to 0 on the monitor and the OSD screen or w/e won't go away. So now my monitor is stuck at 0 contrast with a box in the bottom right corner. If I unplug it, then plug it back in, the contrast is back up to its normal setting, but it immediately starts going down again! So basically the only way I can get it to stay normal is to hold down the up button.
Just wondering if you guys think this will go away after a while because I don't have another monitor to use :( =============
You're most likely going to have to clean it somehow. =============
Could you tell me how? Like could I turn it off and try and get water in there to clean it, or will I have to take it apart? =============
Maybe one of those air pressure cleaners. =============
You will have to take it apart and clean the pcb for the front panel buttons. =============
The switch under the button is shorted telling the monitor that you're pressing the button when you're not (that much you know). When that Mountain Dew starts to dry, the sugar will mix with all manner of dust, lint, smoke, hair, etc, and the button will most likely not work at all or constantly get stuck. You're going to have to get under the button and clean it with alcohol. If you can remove the buttons without taking the case apart (doubtful) then you've got it easy. Otherwise, you're going to have to void your warranty. :( =============
I'm pretty sure the warranty is over anyway, I've had it for few years now. I just have to figure out how to bust this thing open. =============
I would just pour some 99% alcohol on it and let it dry in front of a fan or in the sun by a window. If the button is just sticky then a little will do, just pour it on the button, if there is a short or something then the alcohol will replace the dew droplets and dry faster. A little BOLD but thats how i would do it. =============

Not a bad idea, worth trying.
The only downside being that when the original spillage has dried, the alcohol wont penetrate so easily to wash away any residue.
OP if you have any pure alcohol, give it a go ASAP.
I did similar to my TV remote control, spilling coffee on it 2 days after I bought it.
Many buttons were stuck so I took it apart and used a cloth dabbed in water to clean it.
Worked a treat, is just like new again and nobody was the wiser :)
I was careful not to saturate anything electrical with water, just surface contact. =============
