I have a DoubleSight 26" and really like it, but the problem is I am tall and I need to elevate the monitor up. I would not really like to buy a new stand for it, I just need some that can support the weight and raise it up. The amount I need it raised is almost a foot, maybe more?
Thanks. =============
What I did with my old CRT was that I put four old phone books under it (2x2) :) =============
Books would work, or you could use some boards that would match your desk's color.
Heh, when I read the title, I thought it was "Rinse monitor". Sure got me to click on the thread... I wanted to see the results of the cleaning! :-) =============
Books or phone books sound like a good way, my one concern is that the side opposite of the spine would get soft and start to warp in one direction. Also, giving the monitor a good rinse might not be the best thing since I just got it. =============
One, make sure you really need to. Most folks have their monitors to high for good ergo. A good rule is the top edge should not be above eye level. Its better to be looking at a slight down angle then straight ahead or up.
If it must go up a foot I would use a swingarm. Ergotron (http://www.ergotron.com/Products/LargeDisplayMounts/tabid/160/Default.aspx) as severl that could handle that monitor or larger. =============

2x2 was large enough to hold the monitor without problems and I put a nice piece of cloth over it :) =============
