So it tells me that it needs, Win98/ME/200/XP. What is strange, is that the original CoD installed fine, but the expansion wont? That doesnt make any sense. Is there a way to trick it? =============
have you tried setting the installer to run in compatability mode? =============
If you mean by right clicking the setup.exe, and choosing "Run this program in compatibility mode for", then yes. Is there another way to do it? =============
nope, that's it. sometimes setup.exe just launches a front end and the actual install is handled by a different program. you might look around for something like that. other than that, you could always try a manual install (https://activision.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/activision.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=12845&p_created=1095290169&p_sid=vwPudPNh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PWRmbHQmcF9ncmlkc29yd D0mcF9yb3dfY250PTEzMCZwX3Byb2RzPTEsMzkwJnBfY2F0cz0 mcF9wdj0yLjM5MCZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlc nMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1) =============
Sweet, that worked just fine. Havent tried it since I got this new setup, and I want to go thru it again as I liked it very much. Thanks. =============
The last part at the train station is a blast.
They did a good job tweaking the Q3 engine. Looks great.
Now bring on CoD 2. =============

played COD:UO 3 times and online for few months.... great game, i loved it. =============
Too bad you cant change your FOV for online gaming. Pretty lame if you ask me. =============
This is what really gets to me: installation programs that refuse to install when it detects something wrong. Detecting something wrong on a Windows system should just be a warning, not a failure.
For example, I was installing an old game, and it checked on install to make sure I had more than 32MB of RAM installed. It found 2GB of RAM, and thought it was less than 32MB, and thus gave an error. Fortunately the installer just asked, "do you want to install anyway?" That's the way to do things: if there's a bug in your detection, which there likely will be in the future with later versions of Windows, there then won't be issues. =============
Yeh have to agree - I had a game that was asking for directx6. Becuase i was running an OS based on "New Technology" technology I obviously didn't have > DX6 installed. Stupid installer quit and won't install at all. =============

Hehe, maybe. But all new games are shiny and "bloomy". =============
