I'm currently running iTunes 7.6.2.9 on Windows Vista SP1. I don't know what's happened but now when I click on File/Add folder to library my external hard drive wont expand in the folder list. It only ever displays the last folder added. If I click on the arrow above to expand the drive it doesn't do anything.
The only way I can add musci at the moment is drag the folder onto my playlists, which will then create a playlist at the same time as importing the music into my library.
Anyone got any ideas?

What exactly is the problem again? Are you saying that when you go to add a folder, which is located on your EHD, that it is not found? Or it wont open? I may know how to help you, I just need a little clarification on what exactly the issue is.

Here you go, here's a picture! The E: drive is a USB hard disk that is permanently connected to my laptop, purely for storing music on. You'll see that under the music folder there is only one folder listed, this is the last album I added to iTunes.
If I close and re-open the music folder in this window it used to then list the contents of the music folder. Now it doesn't and just shows the last album added.

Okay, are you trying to create a playlist from your external hard drive? If so, why don't you just go to File \ Add File instead. When you open up your EHD, you can rearrange the tracks by the most recently added and create your playlist from there.

I'm only assuming you want to create playlists. If you're not, then I know this seems very obvious and redundant. Just let me know what exactly it is you're trying to do.

Also, when you tried to Add Folders in the past, did it use to open a large amount of folders? Again, I'm sorry for being difficult, but the more details the better.

No I am trying to import music into my iTunes library. As an old and stubborn PC user I use EAC to rip my CD's, the files are copied to E:\Music into a folder by the same name as the album title.
I then go into iTunes to import this folder into the library, but when I try to expand the folder in the above window I am not able to select the folder because it is not displayed. Only the last added folder is displayed under the Music folder.
