Recently got an iPod touch and wanted to ask a couple of things about artwork:
I asked iTunes to automatically get the artwork for me and it got it for most of the albums I have. However, with individual songs I do not type in the album name as in my albums section I just want full albums to be available. Is there any way to get iPod to search for the artwork for single tracks or do I need to do it manually?
Also, I started doing it manually and if I drag one piece of artwork in and overwrite it with another, it reverts back to the original artwork when I sync.
Finally, how do I access the folder for the artwork so I can transfer it between computers, as I may be getting a new computer in the future.
Any help appreciated,
thanks. =============
1) With the "automatically get artwork", it will only get albums that exist on ITMS, and you have to have the album name filled out. So...you'll have to do these manually.
2) When you are adding artwork manually, if you drag (or paste) over existing artwork, you are NOT "overwriting" that artwork. You are adding a 2nd coverart. You can use the small arrow over the artwork to cycle thru all the covers that you've added. If you don't want multiple covers, use Get Info to delete those you don't want.
3) Can't answer the folder question. I only do manual coverart so that it is inserted directly into the mp3/aac files - so the cover art always transfers with the actual files. I know the "auto artwork" option uses a folder - just don't know (or care) about the details. =============
Thanks, much appreciated
Ah so if I do most of them manually all the artwork will be attached to the actual files anyway =============
Yeah, they should be attached. If you're thinking of moving your library to another computer, consolidate your library and copy the folder. That would include the artwork. =============
ok thanks, consolidate ?
you mean back up all the songs and put them into one big folder? =============

ITunes does that for you, yes. =============
