Hi, quick question - not sure whether its a problem or not..

If the ipod (60Gb) is "awake" it mounts and syncs no problem (using itunes on windows xp by the way). However if the ipod is in sleep, then it just sticks with the ipod screen showing do not disconnect (but not flashing as normal), and does not show up in itunes.
This can be overcome just by resetting the ipod, when it has reset, itunes recognises it straight away and syncs properly.

Basically I'm wondering if this is normal, or whether it should mount properly awake or not. And if it is not normal, what could be wrong?

Same here. I've pretty much just learned to live with it and always wake it before trying a synch.

I do not have this problem with my 4G/40gig though, just my 5.5G/80gig. Podd, very podd.

Thanks, well at least I know its not just me..
Yeah I try to remember to wake it before plugging it in, but it's annoying when you forget and have to reset it.
