But I get a different number (-48). I have a rather large music library (7384 songs 41.25GB). So yeah, when I load up iTunes, I get the message "the iTunes library file could not be saved. An unknown error has occurred (-48)". I've read about the (-50) but could not find anything on (-48), if that even makes a difference. Please help with this, as I am always adding new files and I do not want to have to keep editing the files. Thanks!

That's a lot of songs but there are many examples of iPoders around here that have many times that size. So that doesn't have anything to do with it.
This is when you fire up iTunes OR are you trying to synch to your iPod and get this message? What did you do immediately prior to having this error? =============

Just figured I'd throw that in there since some threads I've read had to deal with library volume.

Yes, it does appear when I sync my iPod to my iTunes. =============
Restoring your iPod is your best bet to fix this. Note that a restore will erase all your iPod's content. =============

Uhg........wish there was another way. Thanks for the help though, I'll try it out after my long train trip (I need music and cannot risk not having any :p ). =============
Wait! I don't know why this worked but you might want to give it a shot.
