here is the issue.

i made a smart playlist to only show the songs that have the "composer" field filled out.

and then i selected all the songs and cleared the field, and all the songs still stay in the smart playlist that i made to only show the songs in which have the composer field filled out.

any ideas?

I tried it out and it works flawlessly. You may have mixed up the conditions in your smartplaylist. What are they exactly?

in the conditions fields, all i put is:

Composer - Is Not, then i leave the the field blank.

and all the songs that have something filled in, appear. then i select the songs an clear the composer field and they still stay in the smart playlist.
