Hey everybody,
I was on ipodbatteryfaq.com (http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com) and I was considering ordering a battery from one of the stores they listed in the FAQ and installing it myself. Here are the stores they listed:
Newertech high capacity replacement battery (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ipod/batteryreplacement/#1226)
ipodbattery.com (http://store.l-f-l.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?pg=prod&ref=616-0159)
PDAsmart (this one has an 1100mAh battery which supposedly lasts 75% longer than the original ipod battery) (http://pdasmart.com/ipodpartscenter3g.htm)
iPodresQ (http://www.ipodresq.com/detail.php?prodID=P010483)
ipodminibattery.com (http://ipodminibattery.com/)
Does anyone have experience with these companies and the batteries they offer? Is there any risk of these batteries causing problems with my iPod?
Thanks in advance!

Has no one here replaced their 3g battery? =============
I'd be interested in this as well. I don't think we will ever see any resolution from the Apple Settlement Case. =============
Has anyone heard anything about these companies or know someone who has replaced their battery? =============
I bought a Newertech battery for my iPod from www.ipodworld.co.uk
Was going to use the installation service but thought it was too expensive to be honest so just bought the battery and replaced it myself. Was easier than I thought, opening the iPod was the hardest thing but once you pop one side of clips the rest is easy. I needed to use my swiss army knife to open the gap a little more so i could get the supplied opening tool in the gap.
Once it was opened it took about a minute or less to swap the battery and close it back up. Everything works perfect. It's just like having a new iPod ! :) =============
OK has anyone used a *US company* for battery replacement? =============
Can't say my company because I'll probably end up getting banned...
Since there's a monopoly here, I have to only state the "other" guys.
ipodmods.com
ipodresq.com
Replacing a 3rd gen battery is so easy you could do it with your eyes closed. But since it's dang near illegal for me to even talk about fixing my own ipods here, I can't be of any further help to you guys. =============
I went for a battery upgrade kit from myBoomBox in the UK (http://www.myboombox.co.uk).
Found the install procedure quite easy for my 4th Generation colour iPod. I was pretty scared of scratching the case, but managed to complete it with no disasters. =============
PDAsmart is an OK company, cheap and easy to deal with....installation is relatively easy also. =============
