I have an IPod photo which is 11 months old (still under the warranty). I think the battery life has gone down more than 50%. I want to take it to the local Apple store. Will they test it there? Will they replace it?

From what I understand, they will do a battery test. The battery is supposed to last a lot longer than 11 months, so the battery test could very well find that it's fine. Sometimes you have to do this, to make your iPod use the battery more efficiently:

If the battery is indeed spent, they will give you a refurbished (used but good as new w/ a brand new battery) iPod, same model you came in with.
