I have a 5G 30GB Ipod. I plugged it in today to charge it and listen to a little music off of it on my computer. The songs were skipping out because the hard drive was loading and making noise. I unplugged it and reconnected it. iTunes brings up the setup screen. All the music on my ipod is gone.
I did the ipod updater 1.1 and restored my ipod to factory settings, but no luck still. I tried putting songs on it, it freezes up 3 songs into it.
Now all I'm getting when I plug it into my USB port is:
-My computers don't recognize it
-A faint charging logo (not the usual one I've always seen, this one is black/white)
-And every 1-2 minutes the sad ipod screen comes up.
I no longer have a receipt to Fred Meyer (where I bought it) I've been told they won't take it. I'm about 6 hours away from the nearest apple store. We have a specialized apple vendor, but not the real 'apple store'.
What am I to do? Is there a way to fix this myself maybe?
Thanks! =============
