I bought my ipod at costco about 3 months ago (actually it was a gift).. Does it automatically have the one year warranty or would the person who got it for me had to of paid extra? My ipod for some reason will not turn on now... can i just take it to an ipod store and have them fix it? Will i need the costco receipt? thanks guys

Ask gifter for the receipt. No need to tell him anything wrong. U just would like to have it for warranty purposes. Pretty benign request.

In absence of a receipt, go ahead and register it at Apple.com. Wait a week, then put it in for repair.
