Last week, I sended in my Ipod to Apple because the battery life was running short on play life. So the latest e-mail that I recieved said:
Dear Victor,
Your service request has been completed and your replacement IPOD 5TH GENERATION shipped on 2008-01-24. Please allow two business days for delivery (five business days if your product has a personalized engraving).
So, Does this means that are they replacing my iPod for another one or could they have just changed the battery? =============
It says they are sending a replacement iPod. In other words a new or refurb. =============
WHAT!! lol But my intent was to get the battery changed. Or Apple doesn't change the battery of the Ipod anymore?
By the way, if the diagnosis showed that my iPod didnt had any problems, would they have sended me a notice explaining that my iPod couldn't been replaced before being shipped to my house? =============
the way apple replaces a battery is by just sending you a refurbed/new iPod.
had their been no problems, they would have said so and said they were returning your original iPod to you. =============
O, wow.
By the way, do you think I could be lucky if they send me the 5.5 fifth generation? (I think its called 5.5?) instead of the first 5th generation iPod?
Also, How can I tell if theiPod that im getting is refurbished or new?
*UPDATE*
I just recieved my new iPod this morning and it looks spanking new. It came in a white box. I turned it on and the charge of the battery is nearly full. I also noticed that on the hold button, it feels a little tiny bit loose, but doesn't seem to be noticebale though..
I taught before that Apple is a pain in the butt towards replacing iPods.
By the way, is it a good sign if it came in a white box? What do you guys think? How can I tell if my iPod is brand new or not =============
