Hea Guys,
I'm new to the world of iPod and I'm hoping that someone can help me with a problem that I have,I was given a iPod Nano 2GB for xmas,It was my brothers old one(its not the new video one).
The problem is that I have installed itunes and it told me that it needs to restore the iPod which I did, when the iPod finished restoreing it said it would restart the iPod in 15 seconds however after the 15 seconds I got the same error message telling me the ipod is in recovery mode that it needed to be restored,I tryed it several times with no success, anyone got any ideas.
I have the latest version of itunes downloaded, just now it give me a different error, error 1415.
Any help at all would be great.
Thanks =============
Did you receive the message it was attached to another library and did you want to attach it to your library? Hopefully you clicked yes for your library if you did.
I would suggest, as I can't think of anything else, a soft reset (toggle the hold button on then off again, press & hold menu & the centre button together until the Apple logo appears), then try to sync it again. =============
No It didnt ask me that, the computer I'm using now just had itunes installed and ipod connected tryed what you said but no joy,it seems it does'nt even see the iPod some times when I connect it!
When I click on the device in my computer it says you need to format it,so I tryed that but it said drive E: cannot be formatted! =============
By any chance was your brother on a Mac, and you're PC? =============
Yep he was using a Mac,he tryed connecting it to his windows lappy but it didnt work,so when he gave it to me he just said to restore it! =============
I thought so.
Someone is going to have to give you some advice on how to format it to Windows now it's been connected to a Mac. I don't know how sorry, but that's your problem so at least you may like to search this forum or google some info. Good luck with it.
Oh and tell your brother to buy you a new one for Christmas next time. :D =============
Ha ya I'll pass that message on;) . I'll get onto google now see what I can find.
Thanks for your help
Edit
It says I need to format it for use with windows, which brings me to the restore menu again, also tryed formating using format /fs:fat32 e: command to no avail =============
Ok the second time I used that cmd posted above it worked, the iPod is working now :-) =============
Very good to hear BarryRY. =============
