Hi,
I bought a new 160 gb Classic a few days ago from Best Buy. I have about 2 weeks to decide whether to purchase the Best Buy replacement plan for about $60.00 (you don't need to buy it on the spot). In general, I know not to purchase such plans, yet I wonder whether I should in this case. Part of the reason why I bought the 160 gb is because my Ipod Video 60 gb's headphone jack wore out, leading to no sound in the right ear. If I had bought a Best Buy replacement plan, I likely would have been able to replace the Ipod as I had only bought it about 1.5 years ago. So, what do you guys think?
The Best Buy replacement plan costs about $60.
Is there an Apple plan that I might consider purcashing instead?
What's your personal experience?
Thanks! =============
AppleCare for iPod is $59 and extends your warranty to two years. =============
Do you think it's better to go with AppleCare or Best Buy, if you had to choose one? Sounds like Best Buy's advantage is that, if they're lenient, they'll let you replace a broken Ipod with a new one on the spot. On the downside, though Best Buy's Geek Squad might insist that it be shipped off to India for 5-7 weeks to be fixed. Apple, in contrast, won't replace it on the spot in their store, but will fix it or supply you with a new/refurbished Ipod in about a week by mail. I'm leaning toward Apple. What do you folks think? =============
not sure how it is in america but in the u.k the apple care plan doesn't cover accidental damage while other stores does so check to see which one covers accidental damage and get that one so your covered in case you ever accidentally break it =============
