I recently sent my iPod to Apple and they said they were going to swap it with a refurbished one, and I was wondering if the refurbished iPods they send out are in good condition? For anyone who's gotten one from them, are they still like new or what? My iPod that I sent in was a 60gb iPod photo, so I don't know if they're going to replace it with the same model or with a newer generation. =============
They'll replace it with whatever you sent them.
They refurbished iPods are like new. Occasionally someone will tell that they got one that was scratched, but unless you never took yours out of a case from the day you got it, it'll be at least as good as yours. =============
I received a refurbed 3G, it was like new when received. =============
apple refurb, unlike other brands (boy was i surprized when i got a sansa and creative refurb...ouch)
apple refurb, unlike others, are in 100% new condition. you should not be able to distinguish them from new ipods. i know because i've convinced many people on campus to buy refurb to save money, i've not seen one person say to me it is not new, even the outside casing.
if i'm wrong, and someone has an experience that differs, please correct me, otherwise im pretty sure that is the case
i read before that the only reason apple refurbs are not refurbs are because you cannot sell the same product twice as a new product =============
oh and good luck on getting a newer gen =============
thanks guys for the replies. good to know that i will be receiving a like new ipod because the one i sent them was in the worst conditions lol. hopefully they'll send me a newer gen, but i highly doubt it. =============
