I want to loose five pounds and firm up. I recently recovered from a long illness that prevented me from eating regular food, and I went a little wild with the hamburgers Mexican food and pizza. lol. I gained about 5 pounds.
Let's see. I am 5'7" and I weigh 125 right now. I want to get back down to 120 and I wouldn't cry if I made it to 115. lol.
My food plan is as follows:
Breakfast:
Nouriche fat free yogurt smoothie by Yoplait or
Luna Bar or
Fruit
Lunch:
Fruit bowl (watermelon, grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, generous serving)
and Luna Bar
Dinner:
Raw veggies (cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, bell pepper, celery)
fat free ranch dip (2 tbls)
1 slice whole wheat bread
Snacks:
fruit ( 1 apple or banana)
My workout program is as follows:
(I am not a gym menber, and will not be joining one)
Monday:
Buns and Abs of Steel video
Tuesday:
Yoga
Wednesday:
Buns and Abs of Steel
Thursday:
Yoga
Friday:
Buns and Abs of Steel
Saturday:
1 mile speedwalking
Sunday:
Yoga
I plan on staying on this plan for 2 to 3 weeks. I pre-prepared the fruit and veg and dip portions for this week ahead of time, so that it will be as easy as "fast food" and I will not be tempted to cop out because I don't want to prepare it. I have put them in Gladware containers in the fridge.
I am blessed in that I am normally a really healthy eater and I am able to control my weight by just eating right, but since I was sick and food was so "fun" and exciting for a few weeks, I did gain some extra weight.
Anyway, anything that is glaringly unsafe of anything you want to advise me on is welcome, but I spent a while on this and it seems like a pretty good/ safe plan for losing 5 pounds...I'll let you know how it's going. =============

Hey babe! I'm right there with ya...
My new boyfriend is joining me at the beach in 3 weeks...so until then...for me there's gonna be a lot of salads, juicer drinks, and working out! I would like to lose 10 pounds...I'm 5.8' and @160 right now...so 150 would streamline things a bit...plus with a tan...I think I should be fine. *hopes*:l =============
Listen, if you are going on vacation and doing the beach thing, I suggest "Nivea Silky Shimmer" body lotion for like the evening or when you're not on the beach. It has like a subtle gold shimmer that boosts the look of your tan, and it smells really good. It makes me feel a bit tanner and slimmer when I have on a skirt or whatever.
And have fun!~ =============
do those luna bars have protein in them? otherwise you don't have any. =============
Yes they do, as does the yogurt smoothie. =============
Yo,
Woohaw, in da same boat wit both of ya'll! Gained sum weight (around 5 - 7 pounds) on my hiatus away frem my beloved gym - sniffles. Havin' an AZZ of a time goin' back to my "normal" weight, but dat's aight . . . Da thang is I am gainin' muscle mass like a mofo (just spent 2.5 hours at da gym pumpin' sum iron) - so I dern't mind as muchos.
(I want dat dern Nivea Silky Shimmer but I bought da shave reduction lotion by Jergens instead. Hm . . . I still have da receipt . . .)
Aneehoo delicious dish, I tink ya should consider havin' more snacks becuz of da extremelee low amount of calories ya are consumin'! Vell yeppers sey da peppers, a diet is reducin' caloric intake or whatevah, but I am jut concerned ya vill not have da energy to git thro' da dey, especiallee since ya seem to be bery active wit yer work-out routine. Pack s'more fruit in thar fer snacks - like 3 or more snacks of fruit - you'll definitelee need it. No such thang az too muchos fruit (of course dat's 90% of wha I eat so I am biased ;)). Don't forgit to drink lotsa watah. :)
Do ya have a set time period in which you you will be observin' dis plan or just until da 5 pounds come off?
G'luck! Take care. BI bis.
Me, the Flea =============
Yeah I had the same thought as VeggieMush--that might be a bit to low on calories. When you wanna shed some pounds, you do have to cut back on the calories, but you don't want to cut back *too* far. =============
I think I may add a can of tuna or a couple slices of turkey to my lunch...what about that? =============
Day Two
Well, day 2 sees our hero already off course. lol.
Yesterday I walked instead of doing the Abs os Steel tape, since Nate was walking and asked me to join him.
Also, thank you for the advise. I added a mini bagel and 3 slices of deli turkey breast to my lunch today and it made a big differance. Yesterday my dinner and my breakfast went fine, but my lunch left me feeling very hungry like an hour after I ate. So thanks for the advise, and I did add more calories and you guys were totally right about that. Fruit is not enough for lunch.
But going well so far. I feel good, and again, the adition of the mini bagel and turkey has made a big differance and still kept the meal very very low fat.

I did really well yesterday.
I wasn't even all that sad when I made my husband's dinner and all I got to eat was veggies and a tin of tuna. lol.
So far no weight loss. But that's normal. Right? =============

that's TOTALLY normal.
you'll see a difference in a few weeks.
but your clothes will begin to start fitting better even sooner. :) =============
Yep, completely normal! Just give it a little time, you'll see some results! =============
Yesterday after work I went to the mall and ended up eating a packet of fat free sugar free cookies, but I don't feel bad about it. ;l
I am feeling pretty good. Like I said since adding the turkey I am not hungry. And I'm still enjoying the food. I mean I haven't gotten too tired of it.
I'm still working out. Which to be honest, I hate, except for the Yoga. I like that, but I don't see losing a lot of weight just doing yoga... =============
:n
I totally just cheated.
My boss came in and he had stopped at the Kolache shop and got me my favorite kolache. Sausage and cheese. Hot. Melty oozey cheese. Salty sausage. And I ate half of it. Even though I'm on a diet. Because it was so warm and the bread so soft and hey, he got it just for me...
:f =============
Delicious Dish,
IMHO, I think you should add more more food to your "diet." It doesn't even look like you are breaking 1000 calories a day, and that could be potentially dangerous.
Add more fiber and more protein (more protein especially at night) to you diet. Drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin. If you are a big tea drinker like me, I'd add a cup or two of green tea to your diet as well. It's a great anti-oxident, getting rid of some of the impurities in your system.
If you eat more, you will see better results. Trust me.
Going from eating a lot to hardly anything at all will cause your body to go into a sort of starvation shock, making it think it needs to hold onto what it already has, rather than getting rid of it.
So yeah.
No need to starve yourself, hon. :/ =============
Yo,
Dat sounds muchos betta delicious dish, but if ya git tired or hungree - dern't refrain frem munchin' on s'more fruit or healthee snacks!
Me, the FLea =============
