My best friend IRL (Leina Rose) had registered and begun posting, and sent me the links to old threads in OIT called "Which Celebrities would you Kill?" and "Which Celebrities would you sleep with?", both of which were quite funny, so I registered.

Since February 2000. so a little over 2 years.

What is the least you've ever weighed at your present height?
117 lbs. when I was 14. It was because of a crash diet, and I regained the weight I had lost quite quickly. (By the time I was 15, I had gained it all back. And I wasn't even *that* overweight. Just like 10 pounds or so)

What are your weight and fitness goals?
Just to be healthy. I know I am not healthy the way I am now. I know carrying all this extra weight is not good for my health. The number on the scale or the clothing won't matter, as long as I am feeling good, strong, and healthy (which I don't now!).

Do you have an eating and workout plan to help you reach those goals, and if so, what is it?
Ok so yes I do, but I just keep on sabotaging myself. There's always some excuse to stop. That's another thing I'm working on, getting myself mentally trained to stop doing this sort of thing to myself.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
No role model, but what motivates me is that at one time I was thinner and healthier and more active. I want to be like that again.

-i workout regularly, currently i'm trying out a bunch of new things, yoga being one example. i'm also trying to not eat any carbs at dinner and not snack after dinner. i've also given up all meat except for fish.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
-my old roommate lost a lot of weight and she motivates me; my boyfriend is really skinny and i feel like a whale next to him. i don't feel that i am overly large or gross to look at...i just need to shave off a few pounds and i think i would feel better about myself.

Jumping back and forth between way too many colleges, working in sales at the moment. For fun, any type of physical activity (you'd think I'd be fit.. hmm.. nope), movies, concerts, spending time with great friends.. and... eating out a little too ofen (uh-huh-- the truth comes out)

Why did you start posting on @forums?
I'm a huge (obsessive) tori amos fan and I was pulled in by tori fans. But I've spent much more time on these other forums it seems. How addicting!

I've been a lurker for far too long.. finally statred posting a few weeks ago.

184 lbs (of grossness!)

What is the most you've ever weighed?
192 lbs (never again)

150 lbs (damn you college!!!)

What are your weight and fitness goals?
Ideally I'd like to be 140 - 145 depening on just how well "normal" clothes fit COMFORTABLY! Fitness goals.. I'd like to be able to run 2 miles under 14 minutes without going into convulsions afterward. And my ultimate goal.. to be toned all over. Bathing suit material.

Do you have an eating and workout plan to help you reach those goals, and if so, what is it?
This past week I've cut out all fatty foods, junk foods and sweets (with the exception of rita's italian ice -my sanity-). I've been running everyday (no great distances, I HATE RUNNING:l ) and I usually do an hour of cardio every other day, lifting occasionally as well when there's time. So.. really I don't have a "set-plan" just something I'm trying my best to stick to.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
I bought a pair of size 8 pants. I call them my "fat pants" and they're what I'm working towards right now.. hopefully once I've reached that size I'll continue losing if the flab's still there.
Role model.. hmm.. tori amos, but I guess she wouldn't be my fitness role model.. if she was there would be NO hope for me.. that woman's soooo tiny! So maybe Xena could be my role model.. she's more my size :p


Thanks for having a forum like this. My friends are very supportive but half of them are in size 4's and 6's while the other half goes out to eat every night. TORN!

i want to get under 200 pounds ... maybe to the weight i was in high school. i'm about 5'11"

right now i'm in week four of the body for life diet. i've lost between five and 10 pounds. (it changes all the time!) i enjoy it so far, but i was expecting a little more weight loss since i was a pretty bad eater and non-exerciser before i started. the program is for 12 weeks.
i eat six small meals a day (1 small portion carb and 1 small portion protein with each meal) i also weight train three days a week (upper and lower on alternating days) and walk or ride my bike during the other three. sunday is my off day from diet and exercise. i might be gaining muscle so that's why i haven't been losing as much. i know i have to increase my cardio ...

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
i'm my own role model. old photographs of myself playing sports in high school help me to stay motivated. i just want to be able to walk up stairs and not be out of breath. i want to look halfway decent in clothes and a swimsuit. i also frequent this girl's website, www.bodyforlifediaires.com. she is a GREAT motivator. she's been on BFL for two years and looks incredible.

My goal is to get down to around 170 or so and to feel healthier and BE healthier. To exercise daily and keep that habit for life.

Do you have an eating and workout plan to help you reach those goals, and if so, what is it? I keep a food journal where I write down everything I eat. I exercise every day and I'm learning to control my portions a lot better. I'm eating a lot more fruits and veggies and less fatty foods.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model? Well when I step on the scale and I've lost another pound that motivates me to keep going. When I can just slip into clothes that I used to have to stretch out before I could get into, that motivates me to keep going. Sometimes I buy a pair of pants in a size too small and when I can fit into them finally, that motivates me. Now that I can *finally* shop in the non-plus size section again (just barely!!), that motivates me because I have so many more clothing choices!

How much do you weigh now right this minute? 128 or 9? I stopped weighing myself and use the measuring tape/clothes size indicator instead--the scale depressses me! I wear a size 8, at 5'4 1/2"

What is the least you've ever weighed at your present height? 113 (I had chronic colds and flus at that weight, but I liked how my clothes fit. I actually miss that weight. Isn't that sick?)

What are your weight and fitness goals? To wear a size 6, be toned, healthy and lean. To feel good in my clothes again.

Do you have an eating and workout plan to help you reach those goals, and if so, what is it? I work out 4 times a week, count calories and eat low carbs at night.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model? The shame of not feeling good in my skin motivates me to lose weight. Also dreams of growing older gracefully and healthfully. My husband motivates me too bcause he is athletic and gorgeous and lean.

Keep fit and build some muscle mass. Help others with what has worked for me, and to get some motivation from success stories.

Lance Armstrong is one of the greatest people for motivation. I recommend his book It's not about the bike for anyone fighting a health obstacle.

This is a picture of me and my rather accommodating date for this year's Admiral's Ball. Before you make any comments about how good looking my date is: 1) Dana really bailed me out- I am a real wallflower, and I can't dance. Plus every midshipman is expected to attend with a date. Dana was kind enough to play girlfriend for a night so I wouldn't get into trouble- that's what High School classmates are for I guess. 2) No, I can't dance. Dana is a good dancer, but she isn't a miracle worker. I think I'm beyond help in that category.

for fun, i like going to movies and reading. i also enjoy baseball, so i go to some minor league games around here and also faithfully attend all of my boyfriend's games--he plays in an adult baseball league. i'm also a huge "buffy the vampire slayer" fan.

What is the most you've ever weighed?
probably around 250. i didn't own a scale at my heaviest. my known (meaning when i had a scale and could see what it was) heaviest was 230.

What are your weight and fitness goals?
i've been actively working on getting fit and losing weight since february. my weight goal is probably around 165-170 (i am 5'10") and my fitness goal is the nebulous statement "i would like to be strong and healthy and energetic." i would like to wear a solid size 12. i have really big boobs, though, and they don't seem to be disappearing with my weight loss, so i may have to be satisfied with like a 14W due to my chest.

Do you have an eating and workout plan to help you reach those goals, and if so, what is it?
i've been attending weight watchers meetings since february. weight watchers has taught me a lot about my eating habits and also a lot about the mental impulses behind my overeating. i also go to water aerobics classes for an hour at least 4 times a week and try to do weight training 2-3 times a week.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
i want to be healthier. i would like to have children within the next 5 years and i want my body to be in good condition for that. i don't really have a role model, though i find that stories of steady, slow weight loss and self-improvement motivate me.

even though it wasn't asked, i also wanted to answer the question "why do you visit 'weight workshop?'"
i've always been a big girl. i have a large frame. i always excelled at academics and focused my attentions there, which led me to being fairly sedentary. i was never really involved in sports, and my close friends were not athletic either. as such, i know virtually nothing about working out/weightlifting/nutrition, etc. i've had to do lots of reading and experimenting to get to where i am now. i have a long way to go, though, and it's always helpful to hear other ideas about exercises and routines and nutrition and such, and that's why i come to the weight workshop. :)

When the message board at toriamos.com was down in December or January I went searching for other Toriphiles. Things were pretty bad for me in February and that's when I started posting here a lot. 112 pounds is the most AND the least I have weighed at this height. I've been the same for a few years, except the fact that I've lost a lot of weight in fat recently and gained it back in muscle.

- Tone up some more (I actually have abs now, which is a start)
- Lose some of the fat on my hips (they look like they belong to someone else)
- I'd like to gain weight in muscle whilst continuing to get rid of my more *squidgy* bits
- Maintain a healthy attitude towards fitness (I was bordering on obsessive a while ago)
- To generally be strong and show people that I am a person of motivation.

Oh God, this would take way too long to write down! But generally, I follow the Body-for-Life programme, adding my own little variations when I feel I am making progress. I like to constantly be challenged.

I have faced a lot of negativity in the past; not getting encouragement or support from the people who were supposed to be there for me. My motivation comes from the fact that they would not like me to succeed.. it encourages me to show them that they can't stop me from being the person I want to be.
As far as role models go, I love Bill Phillips and Roger Applewhite. In other areas of life, I take my creative inspiration from Jim Crace, my musical inspiration from Dave Murray and Bruce Dickinson (from Iron Maiden), and my philosophical inspiration from Nietzsche.

Yeah, I think I want to lose a few more pounds of fat (from my legs.. they're gross) and hopefully gain it back in muscle. But it's so hard! It's like the last little bit of weight is always so hard to lose. :a

My ultimate goal is to be able to look good in a bikini.. but my lower half jiggles around a bit too much just now. This is good in a sense because I belly dance and it looks cool when you're dancing, but when you feel like your lower half has a life of its own, you know you have to do something about it! :n :p

I really know nothing about SlimFast though. I'm a Body for Life freak. :)

This is something to hide over--I like bands like Styx and Journey!! I even paid 100 for two fifth row tickets to Journey last August.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?

The fact that I am an actress and that I want to be healthier. I think having a weight loss role model is stupid because it just gives me an unattainable image of how women should look. I am in it for a better body and my health, not to look like Britney (who WILL be ugly and fat one day!!!)

The guitar I really want I believe is a teal Mexican Standard Strat (a sibling of Jeff's!) :) It breaks my heart to see her in the music store each time, and not coming home with me!! While shopping for my guitar, before having chosen the Squier (which fit my price range), I picked it up a few times and I guess you could say it was love at first strum? Some day, however, she will be mine. ;)

My name is Steve.

I am from South Dakota (no, we don't use covered wagons still).

I started posting here because VenusFetish wanted me to use my knowledge and experience here to try to help.

I am a student currently, seeking a BA in Exercise Science/Sports Nutrition. I am certified as a personal trainer and a sports nutritionist. A BA would be a nice cherry on the top. Again, it's not the piece of paper in the frame, it's the knowledge in the head.

The most I have ever weighed at my current height (6'3") is 212lbs. The least is 183lbs. I am currently at 197lbs. This weight is what my body intended (I hit 212lbs for football from eating and lifting like a grizzly bear, not healthy).

I am at my weight goal, but my journey for increased strength will never end. Although, I would like to see my body fat drop to 5%.

For fun, I like to exercise, snowboard, play basketball, football, billiards...I love camping, traveling, hiking, fishing, frisbee, biking, film, music, poetry, and reading.

My eating routine never stays the same. I am currently on a routine that consists of water, juice, nuts, fruits, and vegetables during the morning and day (with protein shakes throughout), and in the evening I eat my biggest meals balanced with fat, carbs, and protein. I also take a multi-vitamin/mineral, complete EFA's and blueberry extract. I sway from all the processed foods I can (toxin builders). I am finding this routine to be quite energy enhancing. I do fast from time to time for energy, and body cleansing.

My lifting routine cycles as well. I am currently on a pull-up, dead-lift, side-press only lifting routine, with 1 hour of basketball three times a week for cardiovascular fitness. This routine changes about every 8 weeks.

What motivates me to succeed? Life, and my love for it.

Do I have any role models? My parents. They busted their asses for years to make sure I had a good life. I owe them everything.

I cannot forget VenusFetish. She is a huge motivator for me. She helps me stay focused at times when I feel depressed, down or just overwhelmed. She keeps my eyes open to how beaufitul and amazing life can be.....she is proof herself of that beauty. She has saved me, to say the least.

Fitness: to tone up. Actually, I won't really care what my weight is as long as I lose the flabbies.

Yes. I joined "Weight Watchers" in early January, and since then I've lost around 30 lbs. The program is fabulous. They totally taught me how to eat right, and with that I've developed and mainted an exercise routine (Pilates, Yoga, Tae-Bo, walking, Nordictrack, weight training. I vary these day by day.), working out about an hour a day, 5-6 days a week. The combination has worked wonders.

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model?
Honestly, a big part of my motivation is the fear of going back to how I used to live and be. I absolutely refuse to be and look like the way I was, just 5 months ago. Another motivation is that I've never felt better. I used to be tired all the time, and I also was always getting sick off of the food I ate, mostly b/c I was eating junk. I'm eat so much better now, I feel good, and needless to say, I'm a hell of a lot healthier. A bit happier with myself, as well.

It's great!! I absolutely love it!

I've been doing the "basic" video for about 5 months now. I really really need to get the "advanced" one because the basic has just gotten to be too easy. I don't sweat NEARLY as much as I used to. I'm ready to kick it up a notch. hee.

My friend has the advanced tape, and I'm going to see if I can borrow it from her. Yep yep.

It's called a recumbent bicycle. And you're right- bicycling in general is an excellent workout for your legs and backside. The nice thing is that with a recumbent bicycle, you get the same motion as a normal bike, but you don't get that numb feeling in your seat from a tiny little seat. A well designed recumbent bike feels like your favorite recliner with a pair of pedals- so it's great for reading/watching television/enjoying a nice cup of tea/etc.

I want my size 6 clothes to fit better(they were getting a little tight)--i refuse to buy size 8. I also want to be a disco diva (I'm serious!).

eating: I try to eat lots of fruits and veggies and not eat any carbs after 8pm. I'm also not eating any meat, cheese, soda, or other junk food.
workout: I'm doing a cardio/weight-lifting workout 4 days a week for about 25 minutes--I'm a wimp so even 10 minutes of nordic track KILLS me!

What motivates you to succeed? Do you have a role model? hmmm...I guess when I got home from college in May everyone was like "wow, you've gained a lot of weight" and my dad said I was getting a "fat ass"!
