Ok, we're trying something new here. Instead of just one frienship thread, we're breaking it up into categories so people won't feel like "Ok well I have no idea of what to say!!"
This is the thread where anything goes. You wanna talk about school, work, your relationship, life in general, just plain out vent? This is the place to do it. Only restriction here is that the forum rules do apply!! So be nice ;) =============
Be nice? DAMN!!! :p
Well, I just want people to know that I have started doing two diplomas while I am biding my time before uni. I am doing one course in sports nutrition and one in personal fitness training. I'm learning so much cool stuff and getting full marks in all my tests! My plan is to one day be a successful figure in the fitness industry (maybe do a bit of fitness modelling too), and my overall goal is to set up my own boot camp for the unfit!!!!
*Anaximenes wrings her hands in glee at the prospect of torturing people with high intensity cardio*
So, anyway, that's what I'm up to at the moment. I'm trying to post what I learn in this forum, so you'll have already seen my two threads, one on the glycemic index, and the other on how to calculate your daily nutrition needs. I hope you found them useful.
Life-wise, things are good. My boyfriend is romantic and attentive and things are really looking up for us - we split about two months ago (because he didn't think it was going to work in the long term since it would be a long distance relationship) but my improved attitude towards our relationship (i.e, I stopped bitching at him) and my skimpy dresses won him back, hehe! So now things are really good. I don't see him much, so I'm a bit lonely, but fitness is really taking up most of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!! It's a healthy obsession - one my boyfriend doesn't share; he lives on chocolate and ice cream. It gets a bit frustrating sometimes but I'm trying to avoid preaching, which is what I'm best at!!!
So anyway, that's my rant of the day!!! I hope you are all fit and well.
Love to all
Jordie

Hey I'm sort of new but not really because I used to post here under a different name. Hi =============
burn andromeda-well I guess this is a welcome back? What name did you use to post under? (just curious!)
Note to self-never carry around four textbooks, 3 notebooks, and about 8 novels in my backpack again! I started school again yesterday (last quarter-yay!) and had sooo many books to carry around. Well it was also becuase I bought both my husband's and my textbooks yesterday. My textbooks were mostly novels or other miscellaneous paperbacks. His were actual textbooks (hard bound, 1.5 inch thick books that cost an arm and a leg!). The plastic bags they put the books in, with that many heavy books, the handles rip! So I put them in my backpack, since I got this huge backpack for Christmas last year. Now I have incredibly sore shoulders. Its my own fault though.
It feels strange, knowing that this is my absolute last quarter in school. Its a good strange though, its very exciting but weird and nerve-wracking at the same time (worrying about what would happen if I don't pass my classes!). =============
Ohhh I say be nice to everyone :p even if you are nice.
what a craptacular day. The shoulder/neck/back/headache is lingering from yesterday. I have to share one of my english papers in class tomorrow. WHY OH WHY did I volunteer??? Ohhh yeah, get the embarassing shit done right away. I am not a very confident writer. I keep thinking that everyone will rip my paper to shreds (literally!). While they workshop my paper, I want to go hide in the bathroom. They'll be reading my paper OUT LOUD. That's so mortifying for someone like me. (I seriously lack in the confidence department)
I'm now stuck home alone until almost 10pm. :( (my husband is in class till then) I'll hardly see him until June. The nights he's in class, I'm not. The nights I'm in class-he's not. it SUCKS!! =============
I really need to find a new job. It's really tough finding something evenings and weekends other than restaurant and retail. That is what I'm doing right now. I really don't want to leave one crappy job for another. I've worked this job for almost 4 years and it's gotten to the point that I think they are taking advantage of the fact that I'm going to be there no matter what. It's really frustrating.
My old manager came in the other day. He works at starbucks now and told me he could get me a job. They only start at $7.25, $9/hr for shift supervisor. I'd be willing to take it though. I need a change. He also said you can have full benefits at 20 hrs a week. I'm still going to be in school when I'm dropped from my military benefits and since I'm on medication, I need insurance. *sigh* I just don't know what to do.
I just got an e-mail from the trainer I've been working with and she said the gym I go to is possibly filing for bankruptcy (sp?). Why does this happen right when I'm getting into my workouts again? She did say that a nearby gym will allow us to use their facilities until the end of our 12 weeks. =============
Damn, Pulcheria!!! That is so crappy! :s Mind you, although the fitness industry is booming in the West, unfortunately obesity is on the rise and so instead of going to the gym most peeps just sit there eating ice cream wishing to be thin. *sigh*
As you may have read, I am getting my two diplomas in sports science and one of the things you learn is that some clients may be unenthusiastic because the fitness industry gets bad press (i.e. "diets don't work" - they do if it's the right one and you stick to it!!). That's a shame. Overweight people hear "diets don't work" and think "oh well, I'd better not try to eat healthily, then."
:(
Hmm, well my boyfriend just came round. *swoon* Wow, he is amazing. We only see each other once or twice a week but boy does he make up for it! ;) I wonder how many calories *getting down* burns.... *Anaximenes ponders* It must depend on certain factors. Anyway! You don't want to hear about this!
Well, that's it for now. Oh - and I'd just like to say to anyone who hasn't gone there to go to http://www.neopets.com because it is a great way to waste your time!

Yo,
Dayham, ya'll a buzy bunch!
I'm feelin' kinna revved up even tho' it'z my bedtime (I sleep earlee otay?).
Todey wuz kinna floopee. Aunt Flo tends to have dat effect.
Once agin I tink I didn't do dat rad on my exams dis week, but eh, I am a rilly good test-taker (nevah rilly do learn da material, eh hee hee) so mebbe Lady Luck wuz lingerin' ovah my shoulder.
I am ROYALLEE SCREWED. Da semestah is almost ovah and I have diddily doo on my Honors Thesis. Eh hee hee . . .
Me, the Flea =============
my boyfriend gets on my last nerve! I hate it that he never calls me when he is going to be late. And it's so frustrating because I've talked to him about it before but it just never enters his mind to call me to let me know! :s
I've got finals coming up in 3 weeks that I have to start preparing for. I can not, absolutely CAN NOT blow off my Perception final because if I do, I will definitely flunk that class and that's not good because I wanna graduate next spring.
On a lighter note, I don't have to get a job still! :p Unfortunately, that means I don't get any money but my boyfriend has a job so until after summer, I'll just smooch off him :p I'll be taking 3 courses each summer session which is WHOLE BUNCHES of work, but I'm willing to do it because I would rather cram a semester's amount of work in 1 month than do a whole semester. Like Chem Lab, and Experimental Psych, and the writing classes I have to take--I'd rather do them during the summer. Too bad I can't take my Intermediate Italian during the summer--that would be AWESOME! Unfortunately I have to continue to take that class during the fall which means 3 - 4 months more of Professore Mastri telling me that if I just apply myself just a little more, I could develop my italian skills so much better :) I can't wait to get that class over :)

zup?
i've been around the forumz for a while so hopefully y'all know 'bout me and my sarcastic ways. ;) i mod the comics/anime forum and hang mostly in there, OIT, and the film forum. i also tend to go into "gimpypoop speak" when dat darn yeller flea-mamma is around so pardon me if my spelling suddenly becomes less than perfekt.
anyway, i'm teachin' english in japan. workin' on my M.A. thesis in english/creative writing and basically spending too much time gettin' fat. i've never been a skinny lad, but things is getting outta hand. a few days ago my friend showed me the pics from her st. patrick's day party and i had double chin action kickin' in every single one. :g so it's time to whip myself back into shape. my lil' sister is getting married in august and i'm flying back home. it'll be the first time i've seen some of my relative sin over a year so i wanna be, ya know, not blubbery, for the wedding. my goal is to have ZERO double chin action in those wedding photos!
so far i've found a lot of useful info here and i'll be cruisin' buy deez parts regularly (but hopefully not TOO often as that means my arse is spendin muchos time in front of the puter screen and not enough x-ersizin). see ya in da funney papers.:) =============
Wow Angeles and Crispy, sounds like you're both really clever! *Anaximenes in awe*
Well, I am going to be doing joint honours in psychology and philosophy in September when I start at Glasgow Uni (in Scotland, for the Americans :p ) and I'm also considering doing a bit of cosmology or politics or anthropology, don't know yet, but you have to choose a third subject to fall back on.
So right now I don't have a job (overqualified + girl = unemployment) and I'm just lazing around. I'm doing some home studying - getting two diplomas, one in personal fitness training and one in sports nutrition, for those of you who don't know me. I'm doing pretty well. Been getting full marks in all my assessments. So yay me! :) :) :) :)
Angeles - I know what you mean - I used to have to constantly tell my boyfriend the same thing over and over again. It was so frustrating. But then we split up for a month (long story - bored the pants of everyone - basically he didn't think it would work long distance since we'll both be going away in September) but then he changed his mind (I think the fact that I toned up and wore skimpy clothes helped :p Guys are visual creatures). And since then... well, things have been just like they are at the beginning of the relationship. We've discovered how to love each other again. And I don't even mind when he eats with his mouth open anymore. Although I secretly simmer with anger. However, not his fault - I openly pick my nose in front of him so it's a fair exchange. :p :m
I think with guys telling them anything more than once makes their brain switch off totally. Which is inconvenient since you usually have to tell them more than once since they aren't listening the first time!! :r Men. But they're beautiful. I'm sure there are things about women that frustrate them. Like shopping. My boyfriend likes to mooch around the shops with me but as soon as we go near a clothes shop, he's getting agitated. But not as agitated as I get when he forces me to go into shops that sell car parts. :c zzzz
Crispy - Hello. :) It is hard enuff to understan' dat Gimpypoop without anotha peep talkin like dat too! Hehe - did I pass the Gimpypoop impressions test? Yes, I too have had double chins in pictures (and yes, the plural was meant to be there, lol). I'm not overweight, so I think it was just the angle though. You never know - if someone takes a picture from a certain angle they can add 50 pounds to you. Which is why I refuse to have my picture taken. I'm sure you'll lose the blubber - just get exercising! Once you do it the first time, you'll be motivated to do it again and again and again til you get addicted to those endorphins! If you're ever in Scotland and need a personal trainer, then call me up! As of September I'll be looking for peeps who are willing to pay the earth for my intolerance of laziness and total enthusiasm - they'll get totally sick of me, haha. My aim in life is to have my own bootcamp in England - overweight people will check themselves in and then I will be in charge *manic laugh* HAHAHAHA my evil empire grows!!! HAHAHA!!! Etc.
So anyway, enough of the ranting! I've probably posted about 50 times this weekend so I think it's time to get a life! Yep, that's right, I'm going over to neopets.com to play Pterattack!
*Anaximenes skips out of the thread* =============
Right back at ya, Anaximenes. :) There's a girl in my town who's a Slough-gal, and she also went to uni in Scotland. She said there was quite a bit of anti-English sentiments there, but obviously not too much because she is a HARD HEADED nationalist and somehow she managed to enjoy herself there for 4 years without engaging in fisticuffs . . .or so she says. ;) =============
Yes, Crispy, there is some anti-English sentiment in Scotland. :r :r :r :r
Frankly I don't know the history behind it and I am proud of my ignorance since what I have heard bores the pants off me, but basically the English fought loads of wars with the Scots, kicked their arses a few times, even got beaten a few times (:s ) and now Scotland doesn't have its own languages anymore and is practically ruled by the English. I can understand how they'd be pissed, but it was hundreds of years ago, for God's sake. Don't blame me cause I'm the same nationality as someone who put some Scots git's head on a spike in 1320! :p :r
But those are just the ignorant ones; there are people up here who are Scottish AND very nice, ;) . But I gather than in big cities, they are a minority. At one train station in Glasgow I am told it says in big letters "English Go Home" or something... hmm, I'll be going to uni there... but most of the academics there are English, I have discovered on my visits, so they'll be watching my back. :)
Slough.. now there's a horrible place name! I'm from Tunbridge Wells originally... so called because there are some, like, wells and stuff.... :p :r There's a county called Shropshire which I think is pretty gross too (trust all these farming counties to have the disgusting muck-out-the-horses kind of names), but there are also cute place names such as Tillicoutry :)

Arrrgh! I should be doing my homework. Instead, I've been sitting here for an hour, goofing off! I read a good 110 pages of a non-fiction book about being a better writer today. My poor brain needs a break! Plus I read 15 pages of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (the intro and biographical information). What an interesting life that woman had. And I'm no where close to being done with my reading.
I'm also all nervous becuase on saturday, I got a call from the Graduation Evaluations office, saying I needed to call them ASAP, but couldn't call back till tomorrow. I'm wondering what the hell is up. Probably telling me that they got my major check late and my degree won't process till the end of summer, not the end of spring. That's the only thing I can think of. I mean, I know I'm gonna be short on units and if they look at my schedule, they'll see that I'm suffering through 17 units to fix that. Hmm there's also that F in an english class *eep* that I'm petitioning to have it removed from my record since I took and aced a class with equivalent subject matter. I KNOW all my General Ed requirements are good. Its most likely the first thing with the degree I mentioned. I mean, for anything else, shouldn't they have just sent me a letter and not left me an urgent message? Or it could be something miraculous like the looked at my file and saw that I took the AP french exam in HS and suddenly I am exempt from the english degree's language requirement? *heh* Wishful thinking! ;) I gotta call before work tomorrow, so its not like I have to wait much longer to find out what the heck is up. =============
Whew! The call was about my shortage of units! Which like I said, I am already aware of! I'm only technically enrolled in 12 units, with me being waitlisted on the class that'll put me over and above the requirements. (mental note-turn in psych add form today) The only other thing she mentioned was that I have to take the french translation test before they'll post my degree-and I'm aware of that one too. I'll speak to my advisor about it today or thursday. Its nice to know that things are going the way they should. =============

I totally agree with you that men's brains turn off when you tell them something more than twice. He says he listens to me but I'm not quite as sure as I used to be. It's getting to the point where I think I might just break it off with him if he doesn't straighten up. He doesn't know what it is like to wait 2 hours for someone to show up. All I ask is for him to pick up a telephone and call me if he is not going to show up on time. I mean that's just common respect. And on Saturday he said "Are you coming over on Monday afternoon" and I said "I'm not sure, I gotta start studying for my finals" and then he has the nerve to say to me, "Well call me to let me know, so I can make sure that I am home." Oh, I felt like punching him! He expects me to do something that he can't even do. ARGH! The hardest part to this all and the most frustrating is that I love him. And i don't like to nag at him, but I do because I want him to respect me. And he does in some ways but not in the I'm-going-to-call-you-when-i'm-going-to-be-late ways. And I wanna break up with him just to show him, look, I'm not going to put up with it, but then I'm scared he'll really leave me. Oh my.
oh, that whole picking your nose thing, that's pretty funny! :p

Oooh, your life sounds hectic, Rose Bud!!! :n
And heh, Angeles, yeah, it's a really bad habit of mine.. we'll be sitting there watching TV and eating ice cream and suddenly I'll notice I'm just fishing around up there, hehe! I'm pretty gross, but he loves me so why change?! It's a shame about your boyfriend but you know what, I bet ?000 he really does care so much about you - it's just that guys don't think. What I learned about Kris is that he shows his respect in other ways that I have stopped appreciating.. and believe me, when you break up it really does hit home how great he is. I think if you talk to him about it you should just lace it with compliments.. it works! Say "Oh, you are so great, I love you, you are so beautiful.. bythewaypleasecallmewhenyouaregoingtobelate... ooh, swoon swoon."
Well, I finally decided what my subjects at uni are going to be: I'm definitely (not just saying it and not doing anything about it) doing joint honours in philosophy and psychology. And you have to take a third subject as one to fall back on and I'm doing politics.
I went through all the brochures about the courses.. I was going to do anthropology as my 3rd but it said you have to do a presentation in front of everyone and I have a phobia of people looking at me so there goes that idea...
I also worked out what books I had to buy.. lots of political things like Marx, philosophy stuff like Descartes and Sartre; not a bad thing to waste my money on. :)
And I applied for my accommodation - I'm going to (hopefully) live in the student apartments building on my own.. I don't want the hassle of living with someone else: I'm too shy and I like my own space. The building I've applied for is 5 mins from the uni so that's convenient. Most of the buildings are in the student village which is a mile away.. what's the point in living ages away when you could live really close to it.. :t
And I called the SAAS and arranged to be sent a form to apply for my grant.. looks like I'll have my fees and rent paid the whole time I'm there.. yay. :)
I miss my Kristofer. He's so busy. I got some passport photos done today to stick on my accommodation application and I still have some left so I might give him one even though it's totally :m . I got it done at the local photographic studio where I used to work and the woman there looked at it and said "Oh, well it's not tooooo bad..." doubtfully. Yeah. Thanks. :s :r :g :m

Yo,
Anaximenes - Looks like ya've got da Fleabonics down to da t, yo diggity! ;) Wowee, whadda buzee bee schedule you're gunna have fer yer university. I am also majorin' in Psychology (CRISPY got his BA in psych. I believe) and majorin' in Sociology (ahem I should be conducting a study for my Honors Thesis, but I am just a tad behind, hee hee) I'll be impressed if ya dern't pass out of exhaustion. G'luck wit all dat.
angeles - Sounds like you're in da same boat az me financially-wize and summah-wize. I ain't go no job and I gotta take lotsa classes to keep meself buzee. Otterwize I'll end up doin' sumfrin dumb dis summah (yanno like tattoo a map of da U.S. on my bum - hay could happin). Unfornatelee I dern't have da boyfriend wit da cha-ching. Tsk tsk, wha am I to do?
Rosebud - Ya luckee duck, graduatin' and schtuff. I've just gotta wait until December. Siiiiigh. I ENVY ya!
CRISPER - Man yanno my motto, da more chins da merrier. I know da glow of da puter iz az addictive az crack and so muchos bettah. Ya can still keep yer teef wit da puter, tho' not necessarilee wit crack. But hay man, crack may aid ya in makin' da chin disappear tho' I would highlee suggest against it since witout teef ya can't enjoy soy based treats.
I'm doin' aight. Roomie iz RILLLLLY scarin' my hair skinnee, but eh, she'll be gone soon. Dis semestah has sucketh, despite me doin' bery vell. I need to regain my appetite or I'll die off rilly soon, especiallee since I donated blood yestahdey. Yeppers sey da peppers!
Take care. Bi bis.
Me, the Flea =============
My life? Hectic? What gave you that impression? ;) Was it the circles under my eyes in the picture I posted? Hahah. I just gotta keep telling myself, EIGHT MORE WEEKS, JUST EIGHT MORE WEEKS!!!
I just wish I didn't have to TORTURE myself to be able to be completely done in June. But my schedule is nothing compared to a classmate of mine from both last quarter and this quarter. She has to take SEVEN classes this quarter to complete all of her requirements and fill a unit deficiency!! Seven classes here is TWENTY EIGHT units/class hours. The most the Uni will let you register for without special permission is 22 units/class hours. I'm enrolled in 17 units/class hours AND I'm working 31 hours a week. How fun.
So that being said, I won't be around much till June. I'll still post but there will just be some times where I cannot be here every day. I'm lucky I have time to be here today, with all the catch-up reading I had to do with "Frankenstein" (which I completed woohoo!)
On a good note-loud ass rude neighbor has been quiet and will be out of his apartment by friday. That means-Rose Bud has not lost any sleep lately! Which is good since I can't sleep in on saturdays anymore *sniffle* or tuesdays and thursdays since I took on more hours at work.
More good news-I'll be getting a new computer at work! Yay! Finally the SEVEN year old PC will be replaced! =============
We thought everything was straightened out at the gym, but I guess it wasn't. I had a 5:30 appointment with the trainer to have my measurements done and was told that the gym was closed permanently. :a
I guess I'm going to have to either drive 30 minutes to the one on base or find a new one. I've been thinking about joining somewhere with later hours, but this is a really inconvenient time to be looking for a new place to go. She did say that we can use Sport & Health until our 12 weeks are over. At least by that time school will be out and I'll have time to look for another place.
My old manager got me hired at Starbucks. :) I really wanted a job outside retail and restaurants, but this shouldn't be too bad. It's supposed to be a really good company to work for and I can get health insurance when I'll need it next year only working 20 hours a week. Most places require 32 and I really can't do that during school.
I'm just so glad tomorrow is Friday. On Saturday I'm going with my archaeology class to do field work in Fauquier County. It should be fun. =============
Wow, you do archaeology? That is so interesting. I would do archaeology but basically I want to do every course on the list at the university (which is like a billion) because I'm interested in everything. I've settled for philosophy, psychology and politics like I said earlier.
I'm sorry about your gym. I don't actually go to a gym.. I sort of improvise at home.. I have a stationary bike, some wrist weights, some dumbbells that are way too heavy to lift, a decline bench and that's about all. Not everything I need. But my mum's boyfriend is setting up his own home gym and has practically everything you can think of, so I'll be working out there soon and I aim to gain 15 pounds of muscle before uni.
Bad news for me... I found out that the girl who bullied me at school (whilst being my friend too, strangely enough - sometimes your worst bullies are your best friends) is going to the same uni as me, as well as her friend who hates me. This gives me even more incentive to gain muscle because I swear if she comes anywhere near me I'm going to hospitalise her. All the years of being weak.. now it is my turn to be strong and I will not be afraid to use my force if it is necessary.. I'm gonna show up at uni totally lean and muscular, and no one will mess with me. I don't want to look the way I feel inside.. like a little kitten. I want to look like a panther!!! ROOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRR!! (oh no wait, that's a lion isn't it, lol).
Yeah, so that's really bad for me. But in another way it doesn't bother me as long as I don't see her... I just hope we don't end up living in the same building.... :n =============
Anaximenes-I don't know if its the same way where you are, but Universities around here usually have their own police forces. Since I go to a State Uni, the campus police force are considered like State Highway Patrolmen. They have the power to ticket, arrest, etc. Find out if there is that kind of thing at the uni you will be going to (at mine its called Department of Public Services/Campus Police) and have that info handy just in case anything happens while on campus with your bullies. Here's to hoping nothing happens and that you building muscle scares them away!! ;)
My company's health plan is kinda ticking me off! I *really* needed to make a gynecology appointment (haven't had a pap since Dec. 99 plus I haven't had a period since January! eeep!). So I called the only number I could find for all the gynecologists in my group. That wasn't the number for appointments-I had to find a list of providers, see if they are taking new members, if not then I'd have to switch groups to find one that is, etc. UGH! Normally, I'd be like ok I have plenty of time for this, BUT this isn't normal circumstances. I want to know WHY my period is missing. (And I'm pretty freaking sure I'm not pregnant!) So I needed an appointment ASAP. Who knew how long it would have taken me to find a provider that is accepting new members? So I *finally* made an appointment at the school health center. Hell I pay 30-something dollars each academic quarter in fees to them, figure might as well use it! Plus they were able to get me in right away. And just like any other clinic, they employ real doctors, so I feel ok going to them. I just want to get all my reproductive issues straightened out so my husband and I can start trying to start a family after I graduate! I like the health plan my work offers, they are pretty comprehensive (plus I like that if I were to get pregnant *right now*, my pre-natal and maternity care is covered! No maternity rider or "you must be on our plan for blah blah blah amount of time for it to be covered blah blah blah" required. Plus the insurance requires a hospital stay of AT LEAST 48 hours for a natural birth and 96 hours for a C-section! That's rather uncommon too!), but just thanks to me putting this off for so long, I really don't have the time or desire to jump through the necessary hoops. Either way--if I get a clean bill of health through the school health center or they find that there was a more serious reason for my health problems--then I'll go through all the hoops to find a doctor.
Speaking of graduation, I can't wait to be done with school! This quarter is KILLING me with the homework! Thank GOD one teacher decided to nix the reading assignment for class (its the senior seminar class I'm taking for my major, its supposed to be more evaluation and preparing us for the "real world"-which I've been in for the last year with living on my own and the last 2 with having a "real" job, or preparing us to apply for graduate school which I want to go to, like maybe 3-4 years from now). So that makes things a little easier for that class. I can put more time into workshopping and revising my three papers. And gives me more time to devote to my Critical Theory reading (:m but its the LAST class I need to graduate), which is what the bulk of my reading this quarter is. Ohh I think its just the stress talking with the :m. My critical theory professor is very nice. She recognized me from other classes of hers I've tried to take and couldn't complete, and she was super nice to me anyway! This is a very small class (maybe 13 students total?) so its not like I will get lost in a sea of overbearing pompous students (like last quarter *sigh*). I'll make it. Plus despite the fact that we also have to read literary criticisms (not always the easiest reading!) I'm really enjoying the reading. We just finished "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley and I really should be reading the criticisms now... =============
Yeah, Rose Bud, I'd be pretty freaked out too if I hadn't had a period for ages! I'd be even MORE freaked out since I'm only 17 and me and my boyf REALLY don't need that right now. :n
However, I have missed periods before and all I can say is that if nothing is wrong, it may come in time.. WITH A VENGEANCE!!!!!! I mean, like two full weeks or something lying in bed howling. It's happened to me. If you exercise too much or major changes have occurred to your diet then things can be messed up for a while. Going on the Pill ("birth control" in US?) regulates things totally.. I can predict mine to the hour. This could help things. Also, I heard that women who are severely anaemic have probs like this.. perhaps you could take some iron supplements? :t
I don't know... sometimes Mother Nature likes to keep us on our toes. =============
Funny you should mention that the pill regulates things- I am staunchly refusing to ever go on the pill again thanks to this situation I am in. I took the pill from December 1997 to September 2001, with no break longer than three months of being off the pill. I stopped because 1) I didn't have a new prescription through my new health care and 2) I wanted to let my cycles get back to their natural rhythym so I could track them and know when I was fertile, etc. I was tired of the thing the hormonal bc was doing to my body. I had week long periods thanks to the pill. My periods off the pill are three days. I haven't been able to have a "normal" cycle yet! Since stopping the pill, my cycles have been very erratic. Like I had my period in September, but not October, then in November, but not December, and then in January and it hasn't come back yet. When I wasn't on the pill before, my cycles were regular like clockwork. If I count correctly, I'm on day 82 of a cycle. I've read in lots of places that some women aren't regular again immediately after stopping the pill. I'm thinking that I'm just one of those unfortunate few.
I highly doubt that I am anemic. I've never had a problem with my iron levels before, and my diet hasn't really changed that much from back then.
The only thing that bugs me about all this is that maybe every 3 weeks or so, I get PMS'y type symptoms. (sore breasts, cramps) But no period comes! Makes me think there's something hormonal going on, but I don't know what!
Even if all those at home pregnancy tests I took end up wrong, its not that big of a deal for my husband and I. I'm nearly 24 and he's 32. We want kids. He doesn't want to be an "old" dad. We'd just like to wait till I am out of college first. (8 more weeks!) =============
Good lord. The things we women sometimes do for our significant others.
I was in bed at a quarter to 10. All comfortable trying to get through the introduction to "Wuthering Heights". My husband comes in and says "Lets go" and I'm like "Where are we going?" and he says "Guess". I knew where we were headed. Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but my husband is a big Star Wars fan. Not only does he like the movies, he collects the toys, like soooo many others. The toys came out today at midnight. Toys R Us opened up at midnight for an hour and a half, for us nutso fans to get first crack at the toys. So we sat and waited in line in front of a Toys R Us for 2 hours. (it was cool though, becuase standing behind us in line were people who ended up going to school with and knowing my husband's younger brothers)
Ergh but thanks to that, I have to try and get through as much reading in Wuthering Heights as I can. I've been very lazy with my reading this quarter. Its the senioritis. I'm trying though. I've gotten a little better about the planning ahead for papers and projects thing though. I already have my first critical theory paper in mind and I'm already thinking of things for my business team proposal in Business Communications. So I've relaxed a little in one area and gotten better in another. I'll make it through though! Just gotta keep telling myself to take it just one thing at a time.
But now, thanks to being out in the cold air for 2 hours-I'm wide awake and my ass has to be up at 7am for work tomorrow. I can sleep in to about 7:45 and not goof off in the morning like I usually do, just get myself up, ready and out the door. =============
Wow, Rose Bud. You are supportive. I would have told my man his ass can wait alone. :)
I can totally relate to school. I'm up at 6:00 to finish a paper due today. I just keep telling myself that this is the last official day of classes before finals. Thank God!!! =============
Heh we're both total collecting geeks, so he knows that I really don't mind doing it with him. Plus its not like this is all the time, ya know? Its only once every three years. ;) (with the last time being three years from now) just wish I didn't have to go to work this morning. =============

All the years of being weak.. now it is my turn to be strong and I will not be afraid to use my force if it is necessary
Now I remember why I miss Devonshire (my hometown). I love all those little idiomatic things that the folks there do. I love the word whilst. I say mum because mom sounds whiny. And the whole thing with soft s'es replacing hard z's is so cool. I can be polite and drink my tea whilst I hospitalise you. People here in the US look at you funny if you talk like that.
Can I move back Anaximenes? Maybe accept a cross-commissioning in the Royal Navy? =============
Ok so I had my doctors appointment today. I know I've heard some people frown over this diagnosis about the feminine cycle, but the doctor and I talked it over--and it most likely is stress. I mean it makes sense to me that it is stress! I got so stressed out last quarter over a midterm, I made myself sick! I should have taken that as a sign! I have no set routine in my life, whether it is doing my homework or work or even a set bedtime! And all the rushing around from not planning well and worrying about my classes is just throwing me out of whack. This is the most stress I've been under *ever*. So I had a talk with my husband when I got home (didn't go to class today--and I beat myself up mentally when I do miss class!) and we're going to work out a time management plan for me, to help ease some of this stress I am under. We're also gonna try to take a trip to Reno this weekend for our anniversary, and we figured that'd help too. =============

Heh, you can come back any time you want, any way you want! We need more guys with body fat percentages as low as yours in the UK!! (esp. Scotland - heart disease country). If you are dual nationality, you can join the Royal Navy probably. My boyf is British/American.
They look at you funny? Why? For talking correctly?! I try to be as Englishly articulate as I can - makes me feel sort of clever!
ROSE BUD - I hope things work out for you; if it is stress that is causing things to go weird, then perhaps a time management plan is a good idea. I get less stressed out just by writing out a new plan for myself. Sticking to it is another thing... but I like the idea of going away for a while, a romantic weekend, mmm. Wish me and my boyf went away somewhere.. wish he would hurry the f*ck up and propose.... :s :p =============
I joined a gym today. This month is free because of the situation with my old gym. :) It's a really nice place and it's near the Starbucks I'll be working at this summer. I was impressed because the place is so clean. I LOVE a clean gym! Sport & Health clubs are all over the DC area now too, so I can transfer my membership if I get a job up there after graduation.
I still have a pass that is good at Bally's unitl May 8. I've been going there this week, but I really am not too impressed with the place. The military gym is still an option for me late at night, but it is just too hot to mess with during the day.
I had my first final today. The last one will be next Thursday. I'm so glad to be done with this semester. =============
