I want to know because I am strongly looking into this. I have a friend who is a member and she loves it, it gives her balance a guide to healthy eating and an exercise routine. I really want to know what you think. I personally find the one on one counseling and guidance a major catch.
Thanks!

Thanks so much for the 18+ views!!!
How about a couple of replies, or better yet how about somebody else vote besides me.
Do you have any idea how shitty I feel. I asked for your help and you just leave me hanging in the cold. Makes me feel all warm and tostey inside. :(
If you could spare two - maybe five mintues of your day could you please answer my stupid poll or reply to my stupid thread. Believe it or not I thought it was something that would be easy to answer and simple to reply to. So please don't just leave me hanging here.

My honest opinion on things like these is they can be great helpers in getting you to keep track of what you eat better and certainly helps by offering guidelines to folllow-getting you on a set routine.
But-I'm just going by my own experiences and opinions, take this as you will-those plans often don't tackle the emotional and mental reasons as to why we overeat in the first place. I'm not saying the plan can't work-just that they often lack in that department. This is one of those things where you just have to decide for yourself-is it ok that it might lack in that area? And I'm not even saying for sure it does (that just *usually* happens to be the case)-they did mention one on one counseling, so maybe that's a part of that.
I found the website a little skimpy on information (probably done purposely to get you to come to their centers). I know they outline their plan, but I would have like to have known a little more about it. Though you have a friend that's into it-so you obvious have gotten more information than I saw on their site.
I voted for "I wouldn't advise it" in the sense that, its not my advice that should help you choose how you want to lose weight-that's up to you and how things work for you. I don't like really pushing one plan over another-because what has worked for me might not work for you. I didn't choose that to be mean or anything-just becuase I don't know if it'll work for you-you have to find that out! =============
hey there! :) i tried LA Weight Loss about 3 years ago and it didn't really work for me. However the reasons it didn't work were not so much the program itself but because of me. At the time i was not as willing to commit to a weight loss program as i thought. Their program is very similar however to the one that finally worked for me. Basically here is what i remember the first three days with them they have you on an "atkins type" diet where you eat basically nothing but protein. I ended up losing 7lbs in those first three days, most people lose a lot because your body is so used to getting carbohydrates and when it doesn't you lose a lot of excess water weight. Their regular program consisted of a lot of lean cuisine meals and a large listing of foods i could and couldn't eat. I had to shell out a lot of money for LA weight loss chocolate bars and other things that i was supposed to eat twice a day. They try to get you into one of the centers three times a week to look at your food journals and tell you how you are doing as well as to encourage you. The program did not work for me for two basic reasons. 1) The center closest to me was 30 minutes away and with work and class i had a horrible time getting there 3 times a week and 2) i was not at a stage in my life where i was ready to stick to a plan.
If you feel you can afford it and the one on one counseling would be good for you and this is something you want to do and by all means go for it. Their program has worked for a lot of people. What worked for me may not work for everybody. Just remember that exercise (which is something i am glad they encourage)is key to any weight loss program as is a long term commitment to changing the way you eat. What is important is that you want to do this. Good Luck! :)

i am not familiar with the program myself... i mean i have seen the commercials... my sister paid some rediculous fee and she tried it for a week. she didn't like it at all. on the other hand a friend's mother has been on it for a long time and she has lost over 50 pounds and she looks wonderful. sorry i can't offer much help... =============
I voted other, because I honestly don't know much about LA Weight Loss except for what was written in this thread.
*sorry* =============
