Need a soundcard for stereo music and also some casual gaming that does EAX 2.0 at least..
X-FI DAC is pretty weak and some other non X-fi card i got like onboard and juli@ pick up some noises at my speakers when i play some directX games.
Any good one that can let me enjoy my music and also some casual that does not give me noises? clean drivers and not chunky s/w is nice for me :D =============
how abt EMu? =============
Use X-Fi for games and another Juli@ for music. :D
Fill 'em PCI slots! =============

You hoot one, I take the other as sugar-sista. :D =============
PCI sound card will usually pick up noise in the casing due to the noise icaused by PSU, HDD, Fans and what not. Get a sound card, and use its digital out to connect it to an external DAC. =============

i saw from the the AVS or some hydroaudio forums mention that PCI noises depends on the circuity of the board. Some PCI is even lower noise than those external devices out there...
I am now narrowed to a few card.
1) X-fi Elite pro
2) b-inspirer/x-meridian (release 1st nov)
3) e-mu 0404 USB (2 weeks eta) / e-mu 1212m
if i cant do gaming well using 2 and 3 option, i will just get a cheapest version of x-fi (value edition) for 2nd soundcard. =============
How about the X-Mod? =============
X-Fi with external DAC ;) =============
