Hi guys,
I am looking for a TV tuner for my PC in my room. I wanna turn my PC into a TV as I have no space for another TV.
Any good TV tuners, be it PCI card or external box, to recommend me?
What to look out for when buying a TV tuner?
Thanks. =============
Anyone can help me?
Tempted to turn my PC into a TV. LOL. =============
ATI Theatre 550 chipset tuners are supposed to be one of the best quality tuners today.
However I am personally waiting for the newly released Theatre 650 chipset tuners to flood the market before I make my move. =============
Oh. How is the price like?
I really hope ATI will produce more good quality cards, especially after the AMD-ATI merger. =============
An external box: Viewsonic N5 is good. I got an N4 which gives good scaling from SD (640x480) to 1024x768, the N5 will scale up to 1280x1024. The box offers multi input: rf, s-video, composite; output in vga. It also offers vga pass through so you can switch between PC and other devices. =============
How about full-screen on 20" Widescreen LCD monitor?
Will the resolution be ok?
Digital signal right? Heard some tuner got FM, FM radio is it? =============
On a wide screen , then it is better to go for a software based player solution as the aspect ratio can be tweaked easier. Also the difference between having a box and a tuner card is really the software that comes with the tuner card which enables recording, time shifting and such. =============
