Just before I can the PC and to make sure I have covered all my bases.
PC powers on to first AMI BIOS screen, pressing DEL to enter BIOS does nothing. Checked KB batteries. MOBO beeps once, hard drive light flashes several times but main AMI BIOS screen is still displayed. Detection of IDE devices isn't shown but first DVD drive flashes as accessed. If I put a DVD in it doesn't attempt to read it.
Reseated RAM & VGA Card and reconnected SATA drive. Motherboard power LED is Orange. CPU Fans and PSU Fans are working. Also tried with VGA connected and SATA drive disconnected but attached IDE HDD. Still the same as above.
Removed VGA and disconnected SATA drive & FDD & DVD Drives and fitted hardware tester board into ISA slot. Checked manual and hardware tester board reads everything is okay. MOBO beeps to alert no VGA is detected.
Any techies, any ideas at all. :|:|:| =============
Check the beep sequence against the guide at;
http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#04
If it's an AMI and a single beep, looks to be faulty memory. =============
Brownie,
When I run the PCI Diagnostic Motherboard Analyzer you have to remove all cards. And the beeps it gives are for: Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. Which makes sense as I have to remove the VGA card to use this PCI Diagnostic Motherboard Analyzer.
I have award BIOS not AMI BIOS. It displays FFFF on the analyzer, which I checked in the manual and says I can ignore. I Google'd more and it means: Int 19 Boot Attempt. =============
overheating cpu maybe or try reseating CMOS battery
if you have stuff on there u need to get off then try a boot cd =============
