About to hit the bed, but just catching up on a few reviews of I, Robot, and most of them are saying it's probably Smith's best film to date, so I'm kinda curious now. Two things that they're talking about is the main robot named Sonny that's supposed to be on par with Gollum, and the fact that Will showcases his naked behind in this movie. I'm sure these two will draw all kinds of moviegoers. :tongue: That, and the Batman Begins trailer is being shown with it, biatch!!!!

i'm very surprised. i thought this was gonna be a travesty considering the ethical questions brought up by asimov's books and the deepness (or lack thereof) of smith's past work. but to be fair, i haven't seen his dramatic movies. =============
It piques my interest, but man, I can't stand Will Smith. =============
I thought he was good in Enemy of the State.
Give him the right role, and he's good.
Don't know whether it is his doing, but he seems to be typecast into "action" movies. =============
i was half expecting will to do a rap theme song (no its not racist kim!) but i just looked it up and...nothing rhymes with robot :tongue: =============
He's good when he's not doing the cornball "safe-for-White-people-Black-Guy" roles...
I thought this was gonna suck but be visually good, but the reviews are saying it's pretty dope...it'll take my mind of my post-Riddick doldrums... =============
one of the best action films i saw last summer was bad boys 2.
i like will smith, been a fan ever since fresh prince of bel air. =============
i want to see this but dont know if i have time. i read a review that said there could have been more direction instead of action. i also know theres a bottom line message that gets across towards the very end of the movie. wont spoil it and tell ya what the message is though :P =============
7:30pm baby. if y'all aren't still mad at me over spidey 2, i'll prolly hook up a review. =============

i hafta get this off my chest
if they make a sequel it'll be called...

..
.
II, Robot!
bwahahahah im so clever =============

It's okay, Kittygirl. It's not your fault that you're the only biped in the known universe who didn't like Spiderman 2. We love you for your faults as well as your graces.
:tongue:
:wink: =============
Whoever's going to see this tonight, just let me know one thing..Batman trailer or not? I'm dying over here!!! =============

Don't hold your breath, brah. Different locations do different trailers, that's what I've found out the hard way. When I went to see LOTR:ROTK, I was told I'd see the Spidey 2 trailer and instead all I got was "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton." =============
I didn't see the Batman trailer when I went to see 'I, Robot.' Overall, I like the movie. The way it ended make me believe there will be a sequel. =============
Yes! Sequel! Sequel!
Bring on "Robot: Reloaded!" =============

i'm gonna wait for the porno version of this movie, "I, Hobot." =============
Well, I checked it out with dear old Pops earlier today at the mall...wasn't too bad. It was more of a sci-fi noir mystery than a straight out action movie, and I thought I had the culprit figured out about halfway through, but they sure showed me. =============
I just saw it, tonight. It surprised me, quite a bit. I think if more time were spent on tightening it up, it would have been amazing. That stated, I enjoyed it a lot, although I had trouble staying focused on what's going on in the beginning, with a full stomach. =============
I saw this movie today. It was okay, it kind of reminded of Minority Report. I didn't see any Batman Begins trailors, but I did see an Alien vs. Predator one. From what I saw the movie looks to be pretty interesting, apparently the movie isn't set in the future but in present day down in the Antartic. The people appear to be trap in a underground temple that the Predators use to hunt the Aliens. But this is directed by the same guy who gave us Soldier and Resedent Evil so the jury still out on this one. =============
saw it yesterday, was alright, some neat visuals (def similar to Minority Report's vision of the future) but i hafta agree with my local paper in that the first few minutes are basically a will smith/reebok/toshiba/fedex commercial, and it kinda scratched the surface of what asimov was about
btw, i dont think the end was an "invitation" to a sequel, was just a message about free will (no not THAT will :rolleyes:) =============

Actually, its purpose was to serve as a "Prequel" to Asimov's "universe"... whatever that means. In simple terms, the movie is a warm-up for future films based off Asimov's works, which will *crosses fingers* be more faithful to his stories. Let's see if the producers will keep their promise. =============

if im not mistaken wasnt I, Robot just a collection of stories and the movie pretty much just culled ideas from a lot of em? at least thats the impression i got from amazon.com's reviews of I, Robot =============

sorry i'm late. oh, IK? KB? I forget who, but one of the guys on American Morning agreed with me on Spidey 2. so HA!! :)
uhm, I thought it was really damn obvious who the culprit was, but reading this thread, were you guys fooled? I figured out the story I think ... ten minutes... in?
pretty much when they introduced Viki, I was like, "well, there's the murderer. prove me wrong, baby."
Also, they pretty much only pulled the idea of a suicide/murder investigation and the three laws from Asimov's novel. And of course the movie's title. =============
I will not watch this... this... abomination. Heck, they used a different script and made a few cosmetic changes to turn it into "I, Robot", since their rights to the stories were expiring. =============

heehee, i understand what you mean :) i can imagine that if you're a diehard asimov fan, this movie will be pretty hard to stomach. =============

spoilers a coming!
well TB said he thought he figured it out but was wrong so i knew it couldnt be the Greenwood guy cuz he just screams "evil white man" so it couldnt possibly be him
then i thought it was the robot lady (who literally makes sonny look more human in comparison) but when she was alone she was all confused and stuff too. then i even thought it was will smith when he turned on vicki cuz i thought he was gonna go "muahahahahahaha" =============
really? like i said... i had the thing figured out right away. greenwood was too obvious, and everything else just wasn't obvious enough. there was no other reason to have
a giant hive mind controlling the entire building, other than that it's an evil hive mind.
kb and co -- darker movie? this movie, dark? how is this movie dark? the bad guys are clearly delineated, the good guys triumph in the end. this movie is about as dark as spidey 2. =============
guess that just doesn't fit my definition of a 'dark' movie. now donnie darko? THAT's a dark movie. =============
