Gday, just got a few Q about installing a clutch on the 3L diesel, if anyone knows of any online DIY's for this feel free to let me know.
I mite as well give u my plan, I hav just finished building a set of dual geardrive transfer cases, these will be bolted via an AA adaptor to an R151 5spd from a LN130 surf I am wrecking. The surf is a 2LTE engine with I assume the surf dualmass flywheel, my 4runners 3L however will hav a solidmass flywheel rite? From wat I hav read I shud be able to bolt the R151 and twincases to my 3L using the 2LTE bellhousing.
How straight forward is it to dissemble the clutch/flywheel/thrust bearing setup and reassemble? Any fine adjustments that may get complicated? Also I hav a suspesion that my flywheels teeth r cactus as the starter has trouble engaging and crunches often. Who do I take the flywheel to to be machined/balanced or wateva needs to be done to it b4 reinstall.
Cheers for any info use can give.

hey mate cant really help with the gearbox side of things but with the flywheel teeth could well be a case of it just needs a new one depends on if the ring gear can be deteched from the flywheel, and with the machining most specialty brake places should be able to machine the flywheel for ya mate. other than that good luck
i just seen ur on the goldie. if you live round the burleigh heads area or close by aussie brakes on kortum drive do a good job we use em all the time for all our machining of brake rotors and flywheels. and never had a problem so you could give em a go. they should also be able to tell ya what the go is with the ring gears being worn. =============
Cheers mate, Ill inspect the damage when I get the box out and look into aussie brakes. Im hoping the the starters throw out gear is damaged and not the flywheel but we will c how we go. Thanks =============
