G,day all, I need to replace my spare tyre under the back of 80 series, the new tyre is a 285 75 16, it does'nt look to have much room left for a bigger spare. Has anyone got one under? or do i have to get a rear carrier? =============
Got a 750/16 tucked under mine(thats a standard spare) just squeezes in and my31/15 hanging off the swing away. =============
I have a 285/75/18 Goodyear MTR underneat. It firs but not much space left. =============
I get 33" tyres under mine.. that is the eq of your 285's... any bigger than that and I don't think it will go as the rear sway bar stops it from the front from memory.
750/16 are almost the same size but a 305/70/16 or 285/75/16 will be a little bigger. =============
I have 315/75/16 (35s) tucked under 94 80series 2" Boby & 3" Suspension =============
Better off getting a split rim (750/R16)... it's tucks up out of the way. Heard of a few stories of spares ending up worse that the road going tyres after a trip in the bush.
This was as cheesy as I could find for our 105. It's a 235/85 I think.
