landcruiser 80 series high low gear shift

went mud driving last nite and the gear shift knob for high low range has seemed to have popped out or broken a linkage. anyone had this problem before and is it an easy fix. please help

3 hours of mud driving 4 hours of cleaning car afterwards only to find that a 30 cent nut had fallen from locating pin in to gear selector fro high low.
