hilux rolling handbrake gear

hey guys,
was at work today parked on a hill, had a few sand bags in the tray with tools, had the handbrake on (shit house yota handbrake) and in 2gear i went to put a quickcut in the tray and she started to creep back, not a complete roll but jolts back and back?? the clutch seems be be playing up abit latley no pressue, would this have something to do with it creeping??:confused:
=============
They always roll back a little until they reach compression. Sure you just haven't payed attention to it before?
=============
my guess man is, ur brake pads are a bit worn?, and i think you can adjust the brake cable, because you said its creeping so they may not fully be on, and therefore it will roll back untill it reaches compression and stop rolling.

im aware that they do A LITTLE BIT but not 2 meters
=============
2 meters is not a little bit... adjusting the handbrake will help a little, but sounds like the clutch aint working either...
=============
if it was rolloing back smooth it'd be clutch slip but the fact it's rocking back proves the clutch is ok it's the eninge turning over that makes it do that try first or even pop it into lowrange when on steep hills or loaded all i done for mine for 8months when it was road driven. pull you rear drums off see if the shoe lining is still ok and that the drums aren't glazed or have a big lip undo the cable adjustment all the way adjust shoes so that there set up right then adjust the cable too often people just screw the cable up when it isn't the problem. might pay to buy a manual if you don't already have one.
=============
Wouldn't be a dodgy clutch, unless it is not disengaging, in which case it would be slipping while you're driving. My guess is crap handbrake, adjust it, and maybe low compression, get a compression test done.
=============
Sounds like your hand brake is shagged and the clutch may need adjusting. Plates have probably worn down, doesnt sound like its completely disengaging. Does it smell like the clutch is burning while your driving it? Try to adjust the cable and move the pressure point in the pedal down. Does it have a fairly high point where the clutch bites?
=============
cheers for the replies fellas
might have a look at the drums this arvo to see if there ok,
dont get the clutch smell or anything like that, some time when there is no pressure in the clutch you just take your foot of it and it bites straight away?
=============
if u bend a flat head screwdriver 90degrees u can use it to adjust the rear drums through a little hole in the back of them. i think u adjust it down to tighten dont quote me on that either. also just ahve a look where the handbrake cable joins on either sid eof the car to the drums to check they are moving properly. turned out mine was slightly bent on one side so a few taps with the hammer fixed an the handbrakes worked somewhat reasonably

The only thing you can adjust is Pedal height/free play hydrulic setup on them
=============
oh really? I've never looked to be quite honest, havn't had the need as yet! Disregard what I said in that case!
=============
Does it do it in 1st? As the pressure is wanting to turn the engine ova backwards the higher gear ur in the easier it is going to be for it to do that. Mine does it also on decent hills and with a trailer on. The handbrakes r shite in them at the best of times, the best thing u can do to fix them longterm is to by a tailshaft brake kit or disc swap. Cheers
=============
maybe the hand brake cable is streched or seized a bit. i was having some problems with my clutch loosing pressure at times, turned out the slave cylinder was leaking a bit, replaced it (easy job) and not to expensive for a new one.
