Just Opening This Thread If Anyone Has Any Suggestions On Upgrading My Suspension
I'm Considering Going To A 3" Lift -i Was Thinking Going For Ranchos In Shockers Alot Of Luxi Drivers Iv Spoken Too -said They Were Quite Happy...
I Want It More For Travel Offroad & Comfort....they Are Tjm Springs Iv Got On Nowthey Are Rock Hard -not Great For My Back!
Is There Any Way To Prevent Front Springs On These Luxi's Bowing Down...?
Trying To Do This Upgrade Without Blowing Too Much Cash.....

EFS springs are probably one of the cheapest springs around making it one of the cheapest easiest lifts for a hilux. Although most of the aftermarket leaf springs are very similar in spring rate, so if you already have a tjm lift in your lux, probably do some custom work to them. Remove a leaf or two. reset the over rider down if you rarely carry weight. or remove it if you never carry any weight and reset and retemper the rest of the pack back up to the origional height as it was before you removed any from the pack. Making it softer, keeping the height and cheaper then new springs. =============
That Sounds Good But These Springs Are Over 5 Years Old -they Have Sagged Heaps.......do Resetting Leafs Keep There Height?
Yea Most Of My Mates Have Got Efs -they Are Happy But Iv Heard On Solid Luxi's They Are A Little On The Harsh Side To Ride?

im going the tg kit front and rear when i get the money together. very impressed with wat ive seen. done a bit or research and for the same stuff sourcing it locally it was around and extra 2grand so it seems to be great value for money. =============
OME have three differenr spring rates for the front and rear of the 60. Maye they also do that for the Hilux as well? =============
Im running the heavy duty EFS in the rear of my dual cab lux, and its alot more comfortable than the HD dakkar ome springs I had in before.
Rides better too.
Have seen the 3" EFS lift, and I was impressed.
I only have the 2" springs.
OME only have one set for the front if its a diesel.

Whats The Efs 3" Kit Worth?

Crack Whats The Tg Kit?

Mick the TG kit is the Trail Gear one. Its the same as I run in mine and I find it great. If driving daily on the road a adjustable shock may be worth looking into. Look here for the kits Locktup 4x4 International (http://www.locktup4x4.com.au) =============
mmmm so for 3k you can have a very serious set up. Could you run 35s with this or you would still need to purchase the diff relacation stuff as well?
So this kit is no good for daily driving? you need to get a different adjustable shock and adjust it everytime you wanna go bush? =============
The kit will move your front diff forward as the springs are longer among other things. The kit will run 35s if your car is set up for it. Bumpstops adjusted guards cut if necessary etc etc.
The kit is fine for daily driving and I had no dramas at all with it. The Bilstein shocks are a very soft valving and some may not like it. For these people an adjustable shock that they can make harder onroad, and softer for offroad, may be worth it. For me personally Id happily drive on the Billies and loved the ride mine gave. It is a more offroad orientated setup so some onroad compromise is expected imo. =============

Well the EFS range have a 3 year 100 000km warranty, even if you fit them yourself.
Best bet is to search the forum for EFS, there is alot on here.
Those with the softer front springs report great flex, but those with the firmer fronts also are happy with their flex.

You might also want to check out RidePro, I did this upgrade on my suspension about 12 mths ago and am very happy with them. Good flex and behaviour offroad as well as on road.
Just remember being a solid axle vehicle you will always have a hasher ride than a coil sprung vehicle, you will be able to improve your ride but not make it perfect. =============
