For those of you who have done the conversion from constant 4wd to part time on there 80 series , please advise on the type of fuel cost saved by doing it.
Was it worth the hassle?
cheers

Mine being a DX came part time, however its not just about fuel economy its also about front tyres, front diff and front shaft wearing out quicker, so take that into account aswell when you make up your mind. Then go to

Just done it on a mates 80. Too soon to get ecomony results though. Maybe in a week or so when he's gone through some fuel and fills up again.
We took it for a drive on road and in some mud yesterday and definitely feels a bit lighter in the steering on road. Doesnt jerk as much when you floor it now either.
His is a 4.5 EFI auto BTW.
cheers
