With 33's on the correct offset rims for my 84 lux the tyres are scrubbing out when they tuck up. The way to get around this is to move the diff forwards. From what others have told me there are 2 ways to do it. Rear springs upfront or same springs with adjustable diff locator drag link and drilling a new spring pearch. Which one works best for offroad flex and do i need to get it engineered? Any advice would be great!!!!
Oh yeah I guess the tailshaft will need a spacer or welded shaft? =============
Rears up front requires extended shackles and draglink and torque rod set to the right lemght generaly the same as the distance the diff is moved best way to do this and around the same cost is to do hi steer and it will be a far better setup. drilling diff perches will be enough however steering is the same as above there is already a hole in the left perch it needs to be slightly larger then you match the drivers side to that. i'd be going 50 as you can step upto 35's and they'll still clear. another option is to tub the front guards and the diff can stay where it is =============
if ya check my buildup ull see how i moved mine forward. i done it to a landcruiser but might work for a lux
my buildup is called "sawn-off" 75
go to page 5, post 93 =============
Grinder to the gaurds is cheaper :D I did a little trim job on my 02 lux a few months back, sorted the scrubbing out real good and you wouldn't even notice it's been done! Total cost = $0.80c for a cutting disc. =============
Forgive me for not knowing a great deal due to beer abuse but Sic Lux what is high steer? Damn nice job there bainsy. CIS , I don't want to cut the inner guards if I can avoid it. Rear qtrs maybe for clearance but I wan't to fit 35's and be able to put them on full lock without chewing the lugs off. =============
Could we have some pics up, showing us what needs to be done please lads.

Trail Gear RHD High Steer Kit (http://www.locktup4x4.com.au/product/647a45a1-f056-49b7-a800-f6d964faaf0b.aspx) is the kit you'll need it requires welding new mounting plates to the chassis it gets rid of the standard draglink torque rod. you have to cut the torque rod rod bracket off the chassis to got the new mounting plate on but it's well worth it and another thing you need to do is lenghten the steering shaft. the only other thing you need to aquire a IFS hilux or surf steering box.as the old steering box swings the pitman arm foward and back where as with the hi steer it swings left to right. =============
Thanks. That makes sense. The thing is I just spent $$$ getting the leaking steering box fully rebuilt so changing it out would get a little exy. What about putting the shacles up front and pins to the back as in the 60 series? =============
IFS steering boxes are getting expensive and hard to find,cause every man and his blue heeler want them for the reason described.My truck is a 95' c/cab with 2'' OME suspension.
So this is what I am going to do....
30mm BODY LIFT
SNAKE EXTENDED SHACKLES
EXTENDED BRAKE LINES
MOVE FRONT DIFF 30mm FORWARD
ADJUSTABLE TORQUE ROD
EXTENDED DIFF BREATHERS
LOW PROFILE GEARBOX CROSSMEMBER - to complete the ground
clearance package
WHACK ON THE 15''X8'' RIMS WITH THE 33'' RUBBER
GET OUT AND GET DIRTY!!!!
Should i need to, I can space out the front prop shaft and fit some flexi-flares.For a mild mod that I drive everyday to work,I reckon it will work nicely.What do you blokes think? Is there anything I have over looked?
Cheers Andy =============
