Hi All

I went to the local toy dealer buy a thermostat for the 1UZ fitted to my hilux. I showed them my thermostat and asked for the same thing. They had no way of telling from the sample what they should order. They asked me what year, I thought '98 LS400, they ordered, and the wrong thing came, it was too big.

So what year should I tell them to make sure I get the right thing?
My engine has the distributors on the front of the cam shafts, which I believe is one of the earlier models.

Mine sounds the same as your motor, it came out of early 90's lexus soarer, which has the distributors on the front of the cam sprockets. You might also be able to tell from your sump, mine has a rear sump.

Got it sorted!

Went to another Toy dealer in my town and they not only knew what I was looking for, they also had it in stock.

Think you`d find a 98 1uz is a VVTI engine.
Just say its a 93 net time you want to order something for it :thumb:

That's what I did and it helped to get the right parts for my leaking powersteering pump as well.
