97 legacy wheel fitment questions

Hello, Long time lurker, but finally a Subie Newbie. I just picked up a 97 Legacy L Sedan with all wheel disc brakes. I was wondering what wheels would fit (ie: typical width and offsets, center bore etc) I know a few of my friends have run OEM Volkswagen wheels with 5x100 lug pattern and roughly +38 or higher offset with no problems. Currently I am looking to purchase some BBS wheels that are 16"x7", 5x100 bolt circle, 40mm offset, and a 57mm center bore. Will that work for me?

Thanks in advance

-Jason

subaru hubs are very offset sensitive. pleae avoid many future headaches with frequent bearing replacements by using the appropriate range of offsets.
