Yes. 225 will fit too =============
Even some 245 tires will fit. All you really need to worry about is that they will still fit in your wheel wells. =============
it will but it's not an ideal setup. =============
i would skip on the htrzII tires =============

what would be the ideal setup, specifically for an 07 wrx tr as far as tire size on stock rims
thanks for any reply =============

well stock 07 wheels are 17x7 so probably a 225/45/17
As for the OP, I just bought 17x7.5 with 235/40/17 falken 451's on them and they looked great. There was no tire bulge, the sidewall was straight up and down with the edge of the wheel lip, but it didnt have that retarded tall sidewall look that 225/45/17s have. =============

Thanks guys looks like the 235s will be fine. I am not interested in performance anymore, I just wanted a cheap set of tires. I have winter tires and wheels and I just use my wrx for commuting, I don't race it anymore. I still want it to look nice but I don't care how much the tires grip anymore. I bought a house and I have more important things to spend my money on than expensive tires. THanks for all your help. =============

Its okay I have yokohomas that are rated at one of the loudest tires on my car now, and I am used to it. Plus my exhaust is really loud so it doesn't matter. =============
i run 235/40/17's on my 17x8 summer wheels. looks n fits just fine. =============

Thanks.
I'm running 235x40x17 Yokohama AVS Sports on 17x7.5 Advan RCIIs and they fit just fine with plenty of clearance..... now I know that's not the same tire you're looking at and I was advised that some tires, even if the size is the same, won't fit without rubbing at that size, so YMMV.
As far as wear, they held up pretty good but I only got about 18,000 miles at most out of them before they started making serious road noise and they wore VERY heavily on the inside edges, though I'm not positive as to why, but I think the front end may have been slightly out of alignment and when I rotated them every 6K miles that might account for why all 4 are heavily worn now....
When I replace them, $ allowing of course, I plan on using the same sizes, though I'm not sure which tires I'll use to replace them so that might change things up a bit....
Hope that helps! =============
