I am in the process of swapping my busted diff out. I printed and read the how to instrustion on this. but I can't seem to get around something and am getting frustrated.
In the instructinos it says to manually shift until you move the upper shift fork all the way up and the lower one all the way down so that the roll pin is exposed.
I can't make that happen. I can get the upper one up and the lower one low, but not at the same time. the actualtor rods seem to want to move together. What is wrong? Is there a trick to it that I am missing?
I was tempted to use the BFH at one point last night. =============
Are you using a screw driver in the shift linkage T to change the gears? When shifted into a certain gear (not sure which one) It exposes the roll pin in the shaft. =============
I just used a pry bar to lift the gear assembly and had my buddy take the diff out, and drop the new one in. Then lowered the gear assembly back into place. =============
Mississauga must be a lot like Mississippi. we do things like that around here too to get the job done.(wink) =============
It worked though. thanks for the tip. BTW diff came out in two pieces (boom05) =============
Glad to hear it worked. =============
