Has anyone had their MSP diagnosed with excess carbon or something else that would cause the the exhaust to backfire? =============
I was thinking "this guy must be new" when I read the title. It was a little off from what I thopught it would be. So are you burbling, acutally popping or are you shooting flames? What have you done to the exhaust, what mods are on the car? Oh yeah Welcome to the Forum, what is your location? =============
Im curious about this aswell im have a ton in my tip.... in my garage where shes parked there are chunck of carbon around where the backend sits. Im gurgling a little like timing is bad at idle. around 4 second intervals. its idling kinda low too around 550-600 id say. =============

Do you have a cat on the car, how long have you owned the car? That seems like a lot for the cats to still be working. =============
Yah car is bone stock. PNP head thats all... =============

That's a big mod, it will affect a lot how the car behaves. Depending on how it was done will affect emissions greatly. =============
i think you'll find that carbon you speak of is just a shit ton of oil blow by from the PCV. I put Krankcase vents (aka check valves) into my PCV (do a search) and the excess "carbon" buildup has disappeared.
Do you see specks of black on your rear bumper? Its actually burnt oil from blow by. Krank vents were the best mod i ever did to my car. Added some responsiveness, doesn't blowby oil, and i don't have to clean the rear bumper after every drive. =============
i got carbon on the tip as well.. but it,s worst now since i got no cats on..
got poping, back fire, gurgling and flames out of the exaust..
and i like it like that :)
i'll post a pic of the flames out of the exaust this week.. =============

Thats whats on my bumper....damn...I've been wondering about that but just chalked it up to it being carbon deposits flaking off and through the miracle of...um lets say....MSP magic the carbon ended up on the bumper...I'm gonna look into this ASAP...get that shit off my bumper and stop passing oil like I do gas... =============
