So boys, I know nothing about Subarus (I should mention it is late too so if you see any huge mistakes I am sorry ahead of time) anyway so yah I know nothing. But this dude it claiming that he took a H6 form the Tribecca I am asuming such that the tribecca is the only thing these days with it, the baja might have it too I dunno. But, they come with 245bhp stock. This is selling a buggy thing with one swapped in and he claims 347WHP.... no turbo, factory engine??? WTF? like obviously not stock, but is this even possible with that eninge. Well I totally beleive that you can get 347 with like internals, cam, bla bla bla, heavy mods. SO how far would you have to go to get those #;s out of that engine?
Help would be higly appreciated.
Thanks, Shafto. =============

I just have to comment on you signing up to this website to ask us this question. Take some time to read around before asking some question, heck, you didn't even have to sign up. Go read in the Proven Power Bragging Forum and you will see that an H6 can make a great deal of power, but it needs a turbo. If you are being told it's 347whp naturally aspirated, I would doubt it. =============
With enough motor work I think it is possible. Zzyzz made 300 crank horsepower with a heavily modified 2.5L, they did increase the displacement but I don't know by how much. The Buggy is probably not AWD so it wouldn't have the extreme drivetrain losses we have, so they could have gotten the engine to 380 crank.
You would probably need to increase the displacement and take the compression way up, port and polish, some good cams and properly tuned AVCS and AVLS systems. correctly designed exhaust headers. Alot of work to be sure. =============

K well the deal is that he is selling it for 45K, and i wanted to ask some ppl that know a lot about subarus so I could know for sure. NO it does not have a turbo. He claims he has his 'sercrets' with tuning. So is it bull****?
I could show you the post if you would like. It is on a beetle fourm. I read like mainly Honda, but NIssan, Toyota, Datsun, and bunch. =============
To gain 100HP with no forced induction on an already highly efficient engine, is going to take some serious work.
Is it possible, sure. Would it be feasible? Heck no.
The entire engine would have to be torn apart, all of it's internals replaced with lighter stronger pieces (pistons, rods, crank, valves, springs, etc). Then completely balanced, blueprinted, raised compression...
Let alone there is no "tuning," that I am aware of for the Tribeca, so unless he is running a full standalone, I'm going to simply call BS.
Have ths guy prove his claims with a list of parts used to achieve this magical upgrade. =============

12345. I don't think there is anyone stupid enough to waste $$ trying to build a nearly 350whp NA Subaru motor, but I could be wrong. =============
If you want to spend $45k on a 6 cylinder subaru buggy, I might be able to find a bridge for sale for you to drive the buggy over.
ie. dont buy it. =============

k thanks a lot. That is what I figured, I just wanted to double check. Thank you. =============
k **** it is 327whp but still, no way. =============
Can you give us the link? =============
