cant access anything ecu

I can not access my ECU period. I've tried every single application imaginably including ECUTECK and i don't get any responses back from the ecu. I just says denyso_bootload_cmd over and over again until it times out.

Please help, i don't care if i salvage the map, i just want the thing nuked. I'm about to rip it out and blow it up.
=============
Tell us more about what program, cable and laptop you are using. Not enough info.

=============
Everything, ECUTECk cable, tractix cable. Tried reading with openecu, enginuity, ecuflash, ecuteck (says it can't identify the ecu) The tuner who was trying to access it even talked to someone in germany who sent over a nastly little program that was there to nuke the ecu. That didn't work either. The tuner has extensive experience and he tried for an hour but failed.

....did ya check the OBDII fuse????
....the pins on the plug????
.....is the ECU properly plugged in???
.....is there any kiddiestupidity hacked wiring that needs to be fixed????

....and fill in yer damned profile so we know what the hell kind of car and what year you have screwed up....
=============
There is a OBDII fuse?????? Where is it located?
the pins on the plug are ok
Going to check if the ecu is properly plugged in tomorrow.
I recently installed a turbo timer i only tapped the back 02 sensor and ground.

And i keep filling in my profile and i just keeps disappearing. I have an 02 wrx automatic wagon

...take all that apart and make it the way it was...ya do NOT need it.

...now that I know what to look for, I can tell ya in a minit

....ya gotta SAVE it....the button at the bottom

^^ Listen to the uncle, he's gotcha covered.

Ok i did that, nothing is working, the subaru dealership doesn't know what the F@#$ is going on. And i have literally no money to buy a new ecu.
=============
You're not giving us much information. Why are you trying to reflash the ecu? Did it have a prior tune? Are you the original owner? Does logging work at all? Why can't you afford a $150 used 02 wrx ecu (which I doubt is the problem), but you can afford an Ecutek reflash?
=============
Because i want a stage 3 pro tune. I had a prior xpt 2.5 tune for break in purpose only. No i'm not the original owner. Logging does work. I didn't know used ecu's were 150 bucks, i thought they were like 200-400. I couldn't afford that with the ecuteck flash.
=============
So, you flashed an XPT map fine before and then all of a sudden you couldn't flash anything? Did you install the turbo timer after the successful flash of the xpt map? Anything else you did since then?
=============
yea it all worked before i installed the turbo timer, but i don't really see how that could have locked it down.

....d0000d...ya spliced wires....right?????

ya borked the path to the ECU......got it!!!!

...more kiddiestupidity at play, here folks.......
=============
The only thing i did was tap the sensor wires. I really doubt i did anything wrong. I went and checked it and it looks fine. Not to mention that the ecu is giving off data, i can log with it but i can't read the rom.
=============
Any diagnostic procedure i can do? Got any links to pictures to wiring diagrams so i can follow the wires? Got any help like that instead of calling me a dumbass?
=============
still sounds like a cut wire in the wrong spot, when you are in removing the 02 wire look for anything else, and doublecheck all connectors there also.
=============
...anybody else see why I call it kiddiestupidity, now????
=============
You know i hate this forum. You get one person that helps and 99999999999999999999999 other people who spam and call you a dumb ass.
=============
You know, Uncle Scotty DOES have a point...

1) It worked
2) You spliced/****ed with wiring
3) It doesn't work

I'd say, it's probably something in step 2 that did it... but that's just me and my logic talking :alien:
=============
I've come across another car that has a turbo timer installed and I couldn't read the ECU. I found the car with the green diagnostic connectors plugged in yet the car would not go into diagnostic mode. Therefore, datalogging with ecuexplorer worked but i was unable to read/write the rom.

I took the ECU out of that car, and plugged it into a car that doesn't have hacked wiring. Flashed the ECU in the working car and swapped it back into the car with the hacked wiring. Voila!

I'm not saying that a turbo timer itself causes the ECU to not be read but something about the install borked it. If it were my car, I would remove the turbo timer and try to get ECU flashing working again. But if you just want to reflash a map use the workaround procedure as me.
=============
Well i completely removed the TT and still no go. Diagnostic mode works because i was reading some cel's with it. Here were the CEL's

P0500 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR MALFUNCTION
P1518 STARTER SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW INPUT
P1591 NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW IMPUT FOR AT

I think i may try and remove my ground wire kit next.
=============
I've got to agree that you probably screwed up the wiring somehow. Grounding could be it, as in a loose ground, but I doubt the grounding kit itself. Perhaps if it is one of those snake oil hyper volt systems it could cause problems, but I doubt it.
=============
Thanks i came to that conclusion a while ago.

The only thing i haven't done yet is re attach the accessory wires to the alarm units. I guess i could do that next but i really doubt that could be anything related.

I'll try removing the grounding kit. Its not a retail kit it was one i got from a guy who makes his own kits on these forums. Don't remember the name.

...unless ya REALLY screwed the install......it can NOT cause your issue

i.e grounding to the positive terminal of the battery? :lol:
=============
I'm not a dumbass, I've been working on cars for 10 years now and my friend helped with the install and he has been working with them for 15 years. He also works at a custom car fab shop where all he does it make wiring harnesses.

.......well...in actuality.....WE are not the ones that are having(and never had) this issue
=============
I would remove the ecu and place it another wrx that has had no problem with flashing. And then see if you can flash it. If so, then that rules out the ecu as the problem. If not, then likely you'll need a new ecu.
=============
i'm going to try that next. But i have to find someone who will let me give it a try.
=============
Well i just got back from subaru and they say the wiring is perfectly fine. They say the problem is the flash that was put on it is superseding all attempts to re-flash and because of that is locking me out (having to do with the map starting with X). The mechanic said that there is nothing that i can do to remove it other than get in touch with the map maker and see if he can get it off.

So i need a new ecu, does anyone know if the 2002 wrx manual ecu will work in an automatic version?
=============
Got my new ecu and it works now. So this confirms that my ecu was bad. :p :p :p :p :p :p I'll wait till after i have gotten my tune to reinstall my turbo timer.

....s0000000oooooo....what caused the ECU to DO that??????

...bet I know
