Every once in a while when i get into my car it has a weird smell. I cant find the problem and its annoying the crap out of me. What should i do and where should i look for the smell?

Check the passenger side floor first. Sometimes the A/C drain pipe gets clogged and water will fill up over there. You'll have to use a coat hanger or compressed air to clean it out. Also, the drain pipe runs out beside your exhaust down pipe and I've seen some damaged by the heat off of larger aftermarket down pipes. =============
was it raining recently? =============
was it raining recently?
Yeh but iv smelt it before it rained =============
cab smell? =============
Get a Peachy Peach Tree air freshner =============
stop farting:p
no really try shampooing your seats and carpet. usually helps alot. Its cheaper to do this yourself.;) =============
If it smells like dirty socks and is coming from your vents, there is a particular bacteria that can do that. It's usually more noticeable when the ac compressor comes on after it hasn't been on in a while. It's kind of an unusual situation but thought I'd throw it out there. It's called Dirty Sock Syndrome and it's more common in heat pumps. =============
do you always fart before you get out of the car? i think we found it! =============
i fart
makes my car smell like ****
literally =============
did you shower? j/k j/k :banana:
check the vents? since overtime, they can have mold starting in there and can cause a little foul stench =============

^^^^ agree with the above, you can buy certain aerosols to spray into the heater intake to stop this. =============
the cabin air filter? =============

I work in the hvac field (tech for 13 years)
+100 for this! Especially on older cars!
Go to your local hvac distributor and buy a can of "no rinse evap cleaner". Will do the tick. Also try and cean out your drain with hot water and/or compressed air. They sell a neat little CO2 blaster. Some parts houses don`t like or won`t sell to the public, but there are some that will. They might not mind selling this to you, they just don`t like selling mecahnical parts to the public (liability)!
diluted simple green does the trick as well! =============
this is some stuff you can use..........

Get a can of ground coffee, Cut an apple in half and put half in the open coffee can on top of the ground coffee. Set in your car with windows closed for a couple days. This should remove the smell. Car may smell like coffee for a while but that can't be bad can it? =============
burn some plants in there.lol =============

-SeanHope it's not a frickin dead mouse. I had one that crawled into my heater core and died there. Cost me $300 and it STILL gags me.:furious: =============

Drain? Where is this located? =============
the cabin air filter?
this is more than likely the problem. Try disinfecting the vents first but more than likely this filter needs to be changed. =============
febreeze that bitch up then lolz
seriously...febreeze is the ****!! =============
If you had the front window replaced (as I did), check the plugs (on the black plastic piece below the windsheild where the windshield wipers are) to ensure they are pressed all the way down. I had water coming in behind my firewall and pooling on the passenger side. I ripped out all the fiber backing on my carpet and sealed the leak. After shopvac-ing 1/2 gallon of water up, problem solved. Try Nature's Miracle to get rid of any mildew smell on the carpet and shopvac it out if needed.
+1 on air compressor to the drain hose next to your downpipe as well. =============
