Im going to be painting my sideskirts wrb myself. I love how clay bar worked on the rest of my car. After I prep the sideskirts and give it the first few coats of paint could I use clay bar after it dries? or instead should I use clay bar after i apply the clearcoat? Or should I not use this method at all?
I was thinking of doing this because clay bar is good on overspray and sometimes when u spry paint it can be a bit bumpy in some areas. =============
I dont think that clay would do much for uneven paint, you might be better off using compound and polish after the paint cures, but I might be wrong =============
I might be wrong but.. if you want to fix oversprays.. i think you should go with a random orbital buffer and some polish. =============
fine grit sand paper is what you use...NOT a clay bar. =============

so like 2000 grit (dry or wet sand?) after paint and then finish with clearcoat =============

Yes, if you're talking about color sanding your color coat before clear. Just make sure it's cured well before you start sanding. Use a quality wet sand paper like norton or 3m. I believe there's one called black ice or something ice that we used to always use. What color is the car? The metallic in the paint can do crazy things. =============
why would u color sand or use a clay bar on the base coat? thats no good. clear the base coat, wet sand, and buff =============

You kidding? Do a search. =============
dont use the clay bar, after the clear is good and dry use 1500 paper and buff it with compound =============
never heard anyone using a claybar on side skirts.... not sure this would work... =============
