I know that normal maintenance includes waxing the Clear Bra, but is there any benefit to be gained by polising it?

Really depends on what the material is made out of. Lots of varieties available these days...

Try Plexus - available at most motorcycle shops - it is a plastic cleaner / polish.

When waxing use synthetic - non-carnauba wax.
