glass cleaning question

I have a film on the outside of my 2006 STI that is nearly impossible to clean off. It surfaces on any morning when its damp. It becomes practically blinding when other cars shine lights on my car or I drive under street lights. No amount of defrosting or windsheild wiping can get rid of it. Not sure what it is, but I have tried various cleaning products with little success.

Any good cleaning products you guys can recommend.

Try alcohol.

You can even try using a claybar, but I would use soapy water as a lubricant instead of detailing spray.

Maybe a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

Also, have you tried using newspaper to clean the windows? I've never done it, but supposedly it works great.
=============
yea or a razor blade and foam glass cleaner and scrape it if its that stuck on the window..that works pretty good
=============
awesome.. thanks!

Also if you have no luck with chemicals, you can try 0000 steel wool.

1Z (Einszett) Windscreen Clear with a decent mf towel. Newspaper works, but I wouldn't use it on tinted windows. (Saying that just in case you decide to clean all your windows.)
This might sound like heresy, but I didn't like Stoners IG. But you'll get 99 posts saying the opposite.

Also, you can try a glass polish. 1Z and Autoglym are just a few companies that make them.

I use Stoners and I love it. :confused:

I know, I know. Maybe I just got a bad can or my application sucked.

My problem was that the glass looked clean in the day, but I could see a haze at night. So I always needed a second cleaning.
Then I tried 1Z, it's always been good on the first try. :confused:

I can safely say that my experience is the odd one out.

I use stoners and love it. The only thing is you have to clean it well, then get a new towel and polish the crap out of it. Kinda like a rain-x application.
=============
My Subaru had this same thing going on when I bought it.
I tried regular old Windex and it didn't work.

Invisible Glass got the job done...

Try Fog-x by Rain-x...it should help that from not coming back, assuming it's on the inside of your windshield...
=============
Rain X is bad. i used that stuff so my glass wont fog and now i can see the streaks adn when it foggs up, it does on the steaks. No go on rain-x.
