Well, its been awhile since i hand washed my car.. (Hey its winter... bite me lol).. And I have black soot around the exhaust on the bumper... What's the best way to take it off? I've tried Claybar, but it didn't do a great job... =============
Use pure alcohol. It comes right off, you'll be amazed but after you wipe alcohol on it, be sure to wipe it off with water because alcohol will ruin your paint if it stays on. =============
Denatured alcohol? k... i'll go try it now... =============
You sir... Get an Easy Button!

Wow! That worked AMAZINGLY!! Took 15 seconds!! Had alot more soot than I thought too... Cleaned up around the exhaust and realized it was up the bumper a decent amount...
I'm gonna do it again next weekend when I wax this pig... =============
Another thing that works great is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I had tons of black soot on my bumper and it took everything off. =============
meguairs med compound ( but if you use this, always polish the area afterwards and wax) and swirl free polish works awesome for basically anything.
