as the title states, my car had a clear bra on it when I bought it. It has a few scratches in the clear bra itself, and a spot of 2 where the clear material seems like it got almost torn, and there are small holes developing. I would prefer to have a car without the bra on it, but Im not sure if that is an option at this point. Is it possible to get the paint back to good condition if I were to take the bra off? or would i have to get another one put on in its place? thanks for the help =============
What do u mean back to good condition? Are you talking about where the bra was? If so, that paints gonna be in better condition than anywhere else. Just use some goof off to get all the residue off. =============

so I can just peel it off and everything will be all good under? a friend that uses clear bras on all his cars said I would most likely have to replace it right away with another one =============
I would replace it with a new one myself. When done properly, you can almost not see it on the car. =============
Yes the paint underneath will be fine, as long as it wasnt put on over paint that was already scratched, chipped, marred, etc, etc. My buddy bought an 05 AW wrx with one, and took the bra off the day he got it and the paint looked brand new. I dont see why you would need to put on another one at all.
When you peel it off, just be very carefull and maybe use a hairdryer to heat it up first. It will come off easier. Then do the whole bumper with goof off. =============
You don't have to put another one on, but if you don't like scratches and chips, you might want to replace it. =============
i would just take it off. depending on what brand and how long its on, it can start turning yellow, then its no bueno =============
Like a few people have said... Heat it up with a hairdryer to make removal easier. Get the sticky residue off with goof off or goo gone. If the paint is a bit scratched up or marred just get it buffed at a detail shop. As far as rock chips that were already there, there is nothing you can do but have the hood repainted. You should not have a problem with any of this, its fairly simple. Take it easy. =============
I read that the paint will still match too, since the clear bra does not protect against what causes fading(which ever rays those are)
Pretty cool if it's true, because I was always worried that should i want to take it of for some unknown reason, the colors wouldn't match =============
Sounds like the clear bra has really protected the hood in the past 3-4 years! Personally I would either keep it or replace it. Look at your (presumably) chip free hood then take a look at some others w/o it of the same vintage. We see a lot chipped to heck cars come though for service, along with a lot that have had paint protection from day one and still look great. I know which ones I would want to own ;)
As for 'getting the paint back' if you did remove it. The cleanest area is going to be where the material was. So getting the paint back is more a matter of restoring the non-protected paint.
In any case, good luck! =============
Wait, is this the CLEAR BRA that they put on over the paint that they can buff everything out and touch up, or is this a bra that snaps on? The ones that snap on and tie down ruin things but there is a local company that does an AWESOME service it's kind of like a screen protector for electronic devices but they do it on bumpers and mirrors and etc I seen an article about it where some dude got rear ended and scuffed up, they had it looking like new in no time and the paint beneath wasn't scathed. =============
