subaru glass cleaner

I have a can of subaru glass cleaner laying around that I bought from the dealership. Its in a blue spray can and just says subaru glass cleaner on it and doesn't say ammonia free anywhere. Anybody know if this stuff has ammonia in it and is safe for tinted window? Thanks

You should be able to smell it and tell. I bought some armor all glass cleaner at wally world that is great stuff. http://www.armorall.com/products/view_product.php?product_id=17&main_group=2&category_index=glass

And you can't go wrong with Invisible Glass.

Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol (IPA) followed by water, using clean terry cloths or paper towels yields excellent and inexpensive results.
Ammonia is more aggressive, and citrus is a more aggressive cleaner than that.

If you have a lot of filth (tree sap, bugs, etc.), start with the most aggressive cleaner in your arsenal, then follow with progressively less aggressive cleaners, ending with water.

The reason for this method is that each cleaning solvent leaves a mild residue, which is then cleanable by the next solvent in line. Purified (or even just filtered) water does not leave noticeable residue, so this should be the final solvent used.

Windex(tm), Invisible Glass(tm), and other commercially-available products are usually just a mixture of these solvents with differing ratios to provide a different level of cleaning ability for each product.

For interior tint (and plastics), IPA and water will work and not cause any chemical compatibility issues, such as melting or discoloration.

+1 for stoners

+2, I have been using stoners invisible glass (among MANY of their other products) for years now and it is the best glass cleaner out there. There was actually an independent study done of glass cleaners and invisible glass won.

I have used stoners on my tint since I got my windows tinted in 2002 and there has been 0 discoloration or any problems with it.

I'm pretty sure Subaru's glass cleaner is made by Stoner's...

I use Plexus Plastic Cleaner/Polish for tint. Freaking amazing.

Johnsons Baby Shampoo and water

For exterior glass, clay bar works excellent for removing larger junk. Use a little soapy water as lubricant.

Stoners FTW

and DO NOT use papar towls on tint.

What happens if you use paper towels on tint?

scratch city happens

Paper towels fall apart and don't soak up well either.

Newspaper is a good alternative. (not for use on tint though)

+3 on stoners invisible glass.....started using it this past year and haven't looked back!

MF towels are ok for tint though right? Just making sure, don't want to scratch the hell out of my tint...

Yeah, just make sure they are clean. They make special microfiber for cleaning glass though, it almost looks like a fine velour...

Stoners is the best glass cleaner, no questions asked

I use Eagle One Glass Cleaner and the blue shop towels(not the rags...the ones similar to paper towels). This is safe for tinted windows and using the shop towels really keeps it from streaking.
