kwaka kl250 stalls when braking hard

Need some advice. My lil KL250 seems to have a habit of sometimes stalling when I brake hard. It might stall as you're coming down the gears and hard on the brakes. It does this when the tank's full or half full or almost empty (doesn't seem to be an empty tank thing). Any suggestions on what to check 1st? It had a service at 5000k and has 10000 on it now. Thanks.

Fuel surge in the carbs? You forgot to pull the clutch in as you stopped?
=============
ha ha...no, clutch is in. I'm having to give it some revs to keep it going. After that it's fine. A few times it's only been when I've let the clutch out and been in 3rd or something and it's restarted taht I've realised that it'd stalled (wearing earplugs and I am deaf too...). So, what's this fuel surge in the carbs business about? I'm no mechanic eh.

Increasing the idle speed should solve your problem. Same thing was happening to my KTM 350 Supermoto. Upped the idle and then the problem went away.
=============
yeah my RM's clutch sticks a little and it gave me the same issues just crank the idle up a little

Take the carb apart and clean everything.change the plugs or clean them in petrol. and as others have said, check the idle.

Dunno if it affects your bike but braking hard CAN cause the fuel in your carb bowls to go to one end of it (like if you were running while carrying bowl of water and stopped running real quick).
This can cause excess fuel to get into your engine but most often it causes the fuel to surge away from jets etc and your bike effectively 'runs out of fuel' .

hey thanks to all who replied. upping the idle a bit seems to have helped. cheers and safe riding.
