Anyone have any ideas as to why my bike wont kick start when cold(I have the choke on)?
I usually end up crash starting it the first time then once it's warm it kick starts fine. =============
Are you confusing the choke for the kill switch, by any chance? =============
yeha I used to have the same probs some times.
Try a new plug.
Try this trick too, turn teh throttle open 4 -5 quick times adn then kick it. It works for my RM. Or a slow kick, get it to the top again adn boot it. =============
Always make sure you turn the fuel tap off after a ride too. =============
Always make sure you turn the fuel tap off after a ride too.
ALWAYS?? I was told that it didn't matter..... =============
With premix 2 strokes it does matter. over time fuel will evaporate from the carb bowl but the oil won't. You end up with a mixture thats more like 5:1 than 50:1.
Doesn't really matter if your bike has a seperate oil tank. =============
Kewl, thanks for that. Im still "learning" about owning a two stroke, mine has a seperate oil tank.... =============
Yes I'm sure its not the kill switch and I always turn the gas off after a ride. New plug doesn't seem to help either. =============
Are you SURE the choke is working properly??
Could make it too lean to get started if it's not going full on. =============
how do i know if its working properly? =============
Your bike won't start!!:lol: :slap:
Seriously, get hold of somebody who knows about engines to look at it and give you help.
Any KBers??? =============
When did it last have a top end rebuild? Get the coils checked (both source and ignition) Clean carb, check float level and jetting. Repack the muffler. =============
