Hi all,
We have a strapline we'd like to use on one of our sites, it's a short phrase, a bit like "what you see is what you get", but obviously something else.
We'd like to protect this somehow. I understand the process for registering a trademark, and have done this several times. Is trademarking the only way of protecting the strapline, given that it's quite time consuming? Are there any other options?
TIA =============
I've often wondered about this myself....although most "straplines" are taken from common usage, so I'm not too sure you can copyright/trademark or register something like that.
If for example you owned a cleaning company, you might have trouble securing the phrase "clean as a whistle"....I could be wrong...but you get my drift....looking forward to the correct legal answer on this one. =============
